    my cattle are worth about half than they were this time last year,

        basic supply and demand, prices were high for a while since covid so a lot of farmers not in beef then put resources (Land) towards it,

        edit: also there was plenty of extra pasture due to the high rainfalls the past few years so everyone let their herds expand, the upcoming drought will put a lot of animals through to graduation,

    FYI, "Scotch fillet" is a racist term as it derives from the stereotype of Scottspersons being penny-pinching. It is a cheaper version of "fillet".
    You wouldn't call it Jews' fillet, would you?

      I agree. "Economy" is usually means tough but ok for stewing and casseroles.

      I think with the drought coming in the eastern states, farmers are thinning out their herds and getting rid of the the older cows.

  went to our local iga and they dont have this rump steak on sale. quite disappointed :|
