50% off Sakura Automotive Filters + Delivery ($0 SYD C&C/ $99 Order) @ Automotive Superstore

440

These seem like some very cheap filters that review alright - especially if you do frequent oil changes.
Made in Indonesia so probably not much difference to the Chinese-made Ryco.

For example 2AR-FE Camry engine oil filter:
Ryco $19.70
Sakura $8
Pairs nicely with this $39 full synthetic oil from Nulon for a total of $47.
Lots of different filters to pick from including oil, cabin and air with all being 50% off as far as I can tell.

Check compatible filters here: https://www.sakurafilters.com.au/automotive-and-light-commer…

Sakura Filter has 50 years experience in the filtration business. We operate under PT Selamat Sempurna Tbk. (SMSM), the flagship of the Automotive Division Group and currently the largest filter manufacturers in the region.

  • Are these engine air filter reliable? I heard some cheap filters allows dust to go through into the engine intake

Seem to have a pretty good reputation, are considered a good buy at normal prices, have stacked up with enough to get me 40K km worth of filters and got free shipping as well.

  • I have been using them couple of years , no issues at all , far better than sca
really good price, $4.50 for 4WD oil filter, got few, Thanks

    • No worries great price!

      CAV = Antivirus/Antibacterial
      CAC = Activated Carbon

      • So would you say the first one for regular use and the second for people worried about excess fumes and/or are smokers?

        • +1

I have no idea. Carbon will probably be better at neutralising smells but Sakura don’t really state specifications for the CAV filters so not able to confirm.

Bought Sakura cabin and air filters at this discount from AS last week.
Cabin filter was not an easy slide in fit. I needed to scrape off some excess glue from the edges which was a pain.
Would I buy again? Yes. I am an Ozbargainer who is prepared to suffer a little for a $7 cabin filter (versus ~$20+ for other brands).

  • Sakura have been around for ages. Thanks!

Just be warned - the slowest delivery ever from this place. Nearly a month for my last order and the previous one was similar.

    • Agree, be ware of these liars, they drop ship so they have no stock of whatever they show on the web page.
1-3 day dispatch time it's an insult to intelligent people because they cannot do it and you do not know when you get your stuff.
Currently with a PayPal refund claim, it's a pain because I had to buy the stuff again from elsewhere plus headache with complaints and incompetent oversea based chat trolls.
OP I don't neg this post because you're not a representative but for everyone else BE WARE, don't waste your time with LIARS!

The Automotive Superstore's web page is also well know for displaying items that are not compatible with your car.
Head to ProductReview and enjoy the reading!!! https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/automotive-superst…

      • as long as they ship then i'm happy,
i bought a graphic card from rosmancomputer shop online and they never ship and i lost money.

      • Looks like these filters are actually in stock. I ordered just before midnight on 24/10/2023.
        Shipped today at 10:30.

        Hi Billadm,

We carry millions of $ worth of stock and carefully monitor our dispatch times and make adjustments daily to ensure they are accurate, however sometimes there are delays or mistakes but overall 95%+ of products ship within the advertised time frames.

The compatability data we display on the website comes directly from the manufaturers of the products and even companies like Bosch can have mistakes in their data unfortunately.. Yes there are some complaints about this but we have shipped 1 million+ of parts so there will be errors at times unfortunately.

All our staff are based in Australia and i'll have a look into your PayPal case..

All our staff are based in Australia

If so good luck with that, based in Australia doesn't always mean what you're alluding to.
I feel so so offended by your Kevin Svoboda, I don't still understand if he is a paid trained troll skilled in telling lies or an ignorant dude replaying to e-mails with non sense just to show he did the job.
I clearly said refund the money because 1) I already bought the stuff elsewhere, 2) you didn't deliver my stuff.
The clown replayed "cancel PayPal complaint and I'll send you some parts"!
Now, I don't know what parts were available also I needed all parts plus I already bought them because I had a scheduled service to do so all the clown was worried to was about the PayPal complaint not about offering a service and a product!

  • For a once every year service I'd pay the two cups of coffee extra on an oil filter

    • You can wait till they are no longer at half price and pay the extra two cups of coffee :)

      • You're better off rinsing out your genuine OEM filter with method and turps

  • Cheers OP, ordered a bunch for my vehicles!

I only have experience with their Cabin filters.
But found the quality just isnt as good as a Ryco.
For example the plastic frame is a little warped and some of the paper pleats are scrunched up.
It wasnt a one-off either, it was a stack of cabin filters (for a Forester) and they were all like that.
Im sure the filters work just as well as the Ryco, so I guess for the money theyre ok.

  • Ordered $200 worth of filters. Should be good for a couple years. First time using this brand

    • Im still waiting on my delivery. Pretty disappointing service so far. I hope that its all there once i receive it

      • Hi Dezeption.

I just received my partial order for $230.
Was in the same boat with no info.
Emailed through their contact / existing order query /order number / just chasing up info on my order.
That was on the 7th 10am and they replied within 30min.

        Their reply
"Thank you for your recent purchase with us. According to my systems we are currently waiting for your 2x remaining Sakura HC-7932 Hydraulic Transmission Filter to arrive through the stock exchange between our warehouse and our store. This process typically taking 1-3 Business Days, as shown on the product page. Unfortunately, there has been a slight delay with the shipment carrying your stock, and I have requested an update regarding this.

As soon as we have received your stock through to us, we will be processing, packing and dispatching it straight to you with the tracking information being sent via Email.

In the meantime, I have notified my warehouse to partially ship out your order from our end. This should be actioned shortly, and as soon as it has been complete, we will be sending the tracking details through to you right away."

        Cheers to Stefan@automotivesuperstore

The order arrived just now, all accounted for (bar 2) and in perfect condition. I'm in SEQ so I'm pretty happy here.

So flick them an email and should get sorted pretty quick.
