Stack with AMEX offer (likely targeted) of 20% back up to $150

Nothing spectacular you can't find elsewhere. Bike shops bleeding near peak season, which tells you state of economy, and with high fuel prices… Some reasonable deals and some odd ones. This one in 'clearance' for $2899, but $1399 elsewhere with different sticker.

  • They've been advertising some bikes/ebikes not in stock for a long time. As a result I take their ads/discounts with a grain of salt.

Are you sure? "Check Store Stock" on their website doesn't check interstate. I recently saw a bike on their site but there was seemingly no stock so I rang. It turned out that the bike was in Brisbane (I'm in Sydney) but 99 Bikes boxed it, shipped it and reassembled it for no charge as long as I paid a 10% deposit.

      • I've checked stock in every eastern state capital regularly on a few different Merida's. Emailed them about it today and will be interested in their reply.

  • Good luck (and Apostrophe Man is on your case).

  • Inspected bikes at Kogarah and Alexandria, different stock at each shop, settled on the Velectrix Brunswick pick up mid-November.

Picked up my bicycle from the Alexandria store today.

Store rep told me I was ineligible for the $100 voucher, because I picked up the pick after the promo had ended. I ordered online and paid for it on the 24th. told him the T&C's says that payment just needs to be made on the 24th and showed him my confirmation email. He said that was a "sales order", they only issue the invoice when the bike has been picked up - so according to their system, I paid on the 26th.

(It also took a day for them to assemble the bicycle, so it wasn't even possible for me to pick up on the 24th - only got a call from them 5:30pm on the 25th, half an hour before they close)

Dumbest thing ever, but something to note for future promo's - BEWARE.

I would just email customer service about it

      • Yep and if they refuse to do the right thing fill out an ACCC complaint. They likely won't act but it will be on their books. Clearly misleading advertising.

    • picked bike up on 09/11,
sent email with receipt and full payment details via weblink and received voucher code immediately,
      will redeem instore tomorrow.

  • I bought and paid for one also on the 24th from Alexandria, put $200 deposit instore because they had no stock then paid balance direct transfer before deal expired.
Voucher is supposed to be emailed within 2 weeks will see what happens, not expecting delivery till mid November.
