      I believe iPhone 15 and Samsung (since S21) uses PD for fast charging
      while PD has to be C-to-C

      Device that can support fast charging with A-to-C is mostly using QC 2.0/3.0 maybe? (3.6V-12V 3A)?

          only iphone 15 series use USB C, so yes to your question that only C-C can fast charge
          (other iphones that supports fast charging also requires C-Lightning)

      It was the same with lightning cables, only the USB-C to lightning supported the higher speed charging. That continues on with the USBC variant.
