I used to buy cashew nuts at a local fruit shop at $26.99/kg. They were big and crunchy. The shop also sold cheaper ones at $19.99/kg. You can really tell the difference between the two from the size of the nuts and the taste. The owner has sold his business recently. The new owner simply sells the $19.99/kg cashews as the $26.99/kg. He probably thinks the customers won’t know the difference. Now I can’t find the same quality cashews as the $26.99/kg anywhere in the Keilor-Melton area. If you know of any place that sells good cashews, please share. Thanks.
Where to Buy The Best Cashew Nuts?

You're drunk, most of the time, aren't you.
The organic cashews at Costco are much better than colesworth, aldi, etc.
Checkout Freddy Fruit and veg in Melton.
Map out Arab / Iranian / Indian / Pakistani stores in a 10 km radius. Visit each one, if they have loose cashew nuts for sale, buy 50 grams of the highest cost cashews at each store. Label each bag with store name, and then do a competitive tasting. Stay away from super market nuts, or anything marketing it self as "organic".
Thanks sounds like a plan. I also think stores run by Arab/Iranian/Indian/Pakistani usually sell good cashews.
Not very helpful but the best Cashews I've had were from a market in Cambodia.
Huge size. I think they were grown in Cambodia (or maybe Vietnam, I couldn't read haha).
For some reason the Cashews with the skin were the same price as the ones without the skin.
Try dry roasted, when cashews are 'roasted' with cheap oils they take on their taste. Alternatively buy raw and roast yourself, lower heat for longer seems to be better.
My magpies LOVE cashews.
I'm looking for the worst cashew nuts. The cheapest ones. Doesn't matter if they are cosmetically less than 100%, or there's lot of broken ones, I have to do that for them anyway.
And my cockatoos love almonds. Oddly the cockatoos don't recognise cashews as food, and its the same with the magpies and almonds.
Finally I found it. The Costco Kirkland cashew nuts from Vietnam. They are as good as the $26.99/kg I used to get at the local store.
