I have the steam controller. I think the steam controlls are better
Just needs a better display and z1 extreme and we are gucci
I agree with everything youve said but want to also add that the Steam Deck had similar software issues at launch (but no issues in the hardware space that im aware of). With this form factor of gaming, its relatively new and there's a fair bit for these companies to figure out. But both the Ally and Steam deck are now running great - those companies made a good effort in aftercare to support their products for success. I wont say the Legion Go will be great, Lenovo have to make the effort to earn that trust on such a unique product in their lineup.
This form factor will only improve over time. No one should be rushing to buy the newest best version as theyre just going to coming out with newer models over the coming years as they tweak. Patience is definitely warranted, and the preference should be to just buy the one that seems to meet your needs of today and within budget.
Thats true, the difference is though is that no matter how much polish is put into Windows, it will always be an inferior handheld OS.
It's why everybody is trying to run Bazzite or ChimeraOS or some variant of SteamOS on their handhelds.
Unless Windows release a handheld OS, nothing will change. Even if they do that will take months or years after release to then polish on individual devices.
"Windows 11 Home 64"
GROSS!You prefer DR DOS 4 from 1980s?
Windows 3.11 for workgroups is where its at.
One interesting thing I found was that in USA lenovo website the Legion Go is $699 USD, which is $1102.97 AUD, and it is Z1 Extreme + 512g, there is no Z1 version , which is just disgusting
We should be getting the 1TB model for this price.
Makes the Ally look very reasonable. Shame about the SD card slot.
Ally routinely can be obtained from JB in their 10% off deals, and combined with 15% off gift cards, you can get it for under 1K. Just don't use a SD card, but upgrade the SSD, you can now even use 2280 ones with a easy mod.
Hopefully this device supports at least thunderbolt 3. Would be really good to dock to a TV using an E-GPU.
It has Thunderbolt 3. An engineer of the device stated that it should be able to support E-GPU, but they haven't tested it so can't guarantee it.
The website is not working. It loads then comes up with error message failing to load page?
Such good value, large 9” screen, powerful processor
Comfortable grips
Definitely a steam deck killer in every way
Unless you are a novice or am a Steam fanboi - you’d go for this instead
They need to fix their page because it’s not working
And also
Upgrade the internal SSD to a bigger and faster one
It's also over double the price of the Steam deck.
I thought this was supposed to come at 512 Gb or one tb And both models with Z1 extreme
America is the only region to get 1TB option on release I'm pretty sure.
Damn, always missing out somehow
Code no longer working?
message them they will fix it up apparently, saw a guy suggesting that somewhere else
Did you get it to work? Not working for me either

Hi all. I tried to sign up to the Lenovo newsletter to get 10% off this preorder. Didn’t work, so contacted Lenovo support through chat and got the 10% as an FYI. Bit of mucking around but all good 👍

That's fine, everyone has different use cases. I have owned both since day 1 and used both heavily everyday.
I think for the majority of use cases and majority of people the Deck is better. I'd trade lesser hardware specs for something that is as rounded and supported as the deck.
The windows experience, is and likely will be for the foreseeable future an inferior experience.
The trackpads, a mapping system like steam input, and proper cohesive software that ties everything together to just work and to allow extremely fine tuning is something the ally missed.
I find folks who don't understand the value and significance of steam input and the trackpad haven't utilized it to its abilities to play games that are mouse focused or only play triple A games.
Going from deck to ally is just an inferior experience. But it's hard to know what users are missing without both systems.
Again, this'll never apply to everyone, but it does seem to for the majority of the communitys sentiments.
