Hi, Checking Swiss or Japanese watch for gifting wife. Budget is $500. Not many swiss watches are available in this price range, but saw some attractive Citizen and Seiko watches. Please share your experience with Citizen and Seiko, is Citizen's eco drive durable ?
Please suggest the probability of getting discount on watches during Christmas time. Which watch shop (online or physical), to your experience, offers the best discount?

What does she like? Oversized, chunky or standard 34mm watches? Does she have an office job, fancy professional or need a daily wearer in a job like teaching or nursing? Does she like leather, silicone or steel? Is she traditional or modern?
Watches are very personal.
In terms of stores - Starbuy, Watch Depot, Linda and Co etc. Personally Id go Seiko over Citizen.
Tissot PRX 35mm quartz be a good one to consider,
I second the Tissot. They make some nice watches and are well made. Some may run a bit above - but close to your price point and may get discounted in the next few months leading to Festivus….

It depends on what they are after ultimately.
I would second the recommendation for an Eco-Drive if they are after something that is practical with decent looks. I personally hate having to deal with battery changes even if it's only every few years. One of my Eco-Drives is 11 years old with no issues.
Not many swiss watches are available in this price range
for not much more, I think about another 250, you can start to look at the swiss brand Hamilton - they make some nice watches. Underrated.
