QD-OLED burns in faster when displaying white because of the subpixel layout, which isn't ideal for desktop use.
The G9 is also a 32:9 aspect ratio, which is significantly less supported for games than 21:9 like this monitor is.
LG WOLED burns in faster for everything else?
Everything else you just stated is a plus.
@SvcKpc: It's WRGB versus RGB, it's not hard to understand that the whiter the image, the greater the issues.
That's the only clear advantage, while Samsung has colour volume for days.
@jasswolf: There is no need to double down on your ignorance. I have presented you with evidence demonstrating how QD-OLED is more prone to burn-in when displaying white.
Continue being dense at your leisure.
@SvcKpc: We're stating the same thing…
Even then, you do not pay more for a dicky 21:9 ultrawide… it's an intensely minor concern for anyone who knows how to use dark mode.
@SvcKpc: Oh and BTW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWuwUb-7vjo
QD-OLED does burn in faster, sometimes very fast, but it's not yet known whether that has anything to do with displaying white something panel specific or something else entirely. RTings' long term test on this is still ongoing and the preliminary results are pretty confusing.
Seems there were compensation cycle bugs, and after that was accounted for the S95C's panel seems to operate as well as anything from LG. The S95B results are basically worthless because of this, because all they've done to repair this is run a custom compensation cycle, then a manual compensation cycle run.
But the G9 is using the 2nd gen panel AFAIK, so if you're alternating between 100-120 nit SDR for general use and HDR for gaming/content, while using dark mode, black background, and autohiding the taskbar, I'd imagine this monitor tech will last as long as you'd use any other.
Worst case scenario with that basic TLC is that the peak brightness for SDR will drop off 25% over 6-8 years.
@jasswolf: Sounds like there's been some new developments since I looked into this (which was only a few months ago). Don't suppose you have a link handy?
I saw this at PAX and my mind was literally blown when the Corsair/Scorptec rep pulled the handles out and bent it into a curve.
Absolutely gorgeous bit of kit, too much $$$ for me but nothing else like it on the market.
The pixel density on this is horrible. 78 PPI. It's like using a 27" 1080p monitor, if not worse.
Wow - that's so pathetic. Sounds like we're back in 2000. However, Corsair fanboys and ignorant types will buy these without thinking I suppose…
its same as a 1080p monitor. very Low PPI .. stop buying dumb products and burning your money. Deal price for this would be $1400.
m-m-muh ppi!
Wait, we're manually bending monitors now?!
They all bend if you try hard enough. Seriously though, I watched a video of someone bending it and it made this disconcerting crack sound to let you know that was enough

as for 1080P being "low PPI"… erm over 24" it is, under that at 80cm it's about on par with what you can perceive unless you're a reall nit picker.
Personally I find that DPI perfectly fine, and use 1440P@32" for that reason.. mode screen , clear enough, and doesn't need a $2k GPU.
Hard ask when the QD-OLED G9 deals are about for $2000ish.
