    Sounds about right. Mine is 7.5 years old and the unlocking mechanism (i.e. opening from inside with button pressed down) is getting very stiff, and the handle getting very loose.
    
    Took it apart and greased and it's a bit better, but probably need to replace soon.

I have an existing one of these locks (in Satin).
Is it possible to retain and reuse the existing barrel so I don't need new keys?
