50% off "The Lot" Pizza: $9.50 Pickup on Tuesdays, App Order Only @ Domino's

410

Previously all the 50% deals have been excluding the lot Pizzas which was a shame as I really wanted to try it after Greg's review. Well now I can and so can you! It seems like they've jacked up the price from $12 to $19 but allowing the 50% off in-app voucher to apply. Which makes it cheaper than the initial offering of $12.
Simply navigate to the pizza menu and at the top there should be 50% off Tuesday banner to click. It seems to be working on all the Sydney stores I've tried, Proof

Update: I'm gonna have to agree with Greg on this one and say I think it's probably the best pizza dominos have released to date. It's just so thick with toppings!

    How can you eat this?

  • We had it for lunch. Not bad. Another warning for the capriciosa, it has anchovies on it!

    • Anchovies is extra I believe

      • We didn't pay extra for them. Never had anchovies on a capriciosa before so it was quite the surprise. I didn't mind it after the initial shock (I don't mind anchovies) but my wife didn't like it at all.

People will practically go to war over if pineapple belongs on a pizza… then there’s those who go ahead and add anchovies to pizza haha

        • +2

Maybe because anchovies on pizza is in the traditional Naples style, whereas pineapple is Canadian?

Why not just go ahead and serve it wrapped in double denim.

          • +1

@Tiggrrrrr: Yes, this. Anchovies are a traditional (and delicious) pizza topping, whereas pineapple on pizza is a ludicrous absurdity unrivalled by any other misguided folly ever known throughout the history of human kind.

            • @GnarlyKnuckles: I won't even mention barbeque sauce then…

            • @GnarlyKnuckles: So, you think pineapple is worse than banana & curry on a pizza? A common choice in Sweden.

              • @PeppaPigDidNthngWrng: Lol, if you put banana and curry on something, it can no longer be accurately described as a pizza. That would be much more akin to a thing that can be bought on the street in some parts of India, which consists of curry and one or two other 'fresh' (uncooked) ingredients—sometimes fruit—on top of a circle of freshly heated naan. Some places roll it up or fold it, like a doner kebab. It's delicious; even the vegetarian variants. No one does vegetarian food like the Indians.

                • @GnarlyKnuckles: And yet, there is an entire country - that is not india - that thinks you're wrong.

                  https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/sweden-banana-pizza/

Add some chicken or ham, some peanuts… sometimes pineapple too. But of course - tomato based pizza sauce and cheese on normal pizza base, because it is still pizza.

                  • @PeppaPigDidNthngWrng: Reading that 'recipe' makes me feel mildly nauseous … :/

Re this text from the link you posted:

'When the first bananas arrived in Sweden in 1906, very few people knew what they were or how they were supposed to be eaten'

I suggest that clearly they still do not know how bananas are supposed to be eaten.

                    • +1

@GnarlyKnuckles: no comments on the curry and peanuts on top of a margarita pizza?

I'm just saying: your whining about delicious pineapple is greatly overshadowed by TRUE travesties to pizzas. A little pineapple is nothing compared to those.

                      • @PeppaPigDidNthngWrng: I already commented on the curry etc.

As I said, once you put curry on it, it ceases to be something that could even be correctly referred to as a 'pizza'.

Anchovies is now default as the Melbourne version of the Capricosa was adopted nationwide.

        • +2

Thank goodness. What sort of heathen doesn’t enjoy anchovies on a Capricosa…

          • @ajr5k: I do like to add anchovies to my Capricciosa, along with buffalo mozzarella, and making sure they use both Kalamata olives and basil.

But anchovies are definitely not standard here.

I think I got into the habit of ordering it that way as the default olive here seems to be black (i.e. tasteless).

            • @Tiggrrrrr: Hey tiges, where is 'here'? … and re this:

'… as the default olive here seems to be black (i.e. tasteless).'

You mean that the default olive in cheap/non-Italian-run places is Spanish, right? Because Kalamata (a Greek variety) are traditionally black when used on a pizza, and so are the delicious Italian varieties used in many Italian pizza shops here in Melbourne.

Most Spanish olives (the ones you get in Domino's, Subway and the like) are pathetically small and totally tasteless; unless you count weak brine as a 'taste'.

It seems like they've jacked up the price from $12 to $19

Oh my God! Who could have seen this coming!?!?!

  • +1

The lot on thin crust is my new favourite pizza

  • +2

No discount will get me back to my local dominos for their slop

    • "for their slop"?

      • Yes, slop. Where is the confusion?

        • Confusion around why you'd comment that when nobody cares, most likely.

    • +1

My local seems to change every time we go there. Has mostly been good though.

  • Had this tonight. There might be lots of toppings in terms of number of toppings, but certainly not lots in terms of volume of toppings. Its almost like having 8 different slices in one pizza.

    • +2

Not only minimal volume of toppings, with inconsistent spread of ingredients, but also had minimal cheese, as well as being about an inch of crust.

      • +1

Depends which branch you go to

        • +1

Could be. I have 5 stores nearby (~3km radius).
This store used to be the best pick, but just googled and noticed ratings have dropped.
So might try one of the others that scores a 3.7/5.

  • +1

Ordered it tonight and was quite disappointed. There definitely wasn't enough toppings as well (this maybe because might local Dominos is shit)

    • Nah, not just local… had the other day and was horrible… shrunken size pizzas , with hardly and toppings at a discount…. Waste of money

  • Skipped lunch today so The Lot at half price should fill the hole :)

  • +2

Just ordered this in a browser. Not App only.

  • +1

Haha i ordered this after Grego's review as well!

  • +1

Had this couple weeks ago and was willing to pay the $12 to try it. Left me dissatisfied as there weren't that much toppings and the spread was inconsistent.
    The supreme pizza tasted better.

  • A bit late, had my dinner already.

  • +1

First time having this; and it was quite good! There is a lot going on, so maybe only if you're feeling adventurous.

  • Now we wait another week.

  • arent the "lot" type pizzas made with all the stuff that fell down into the trough when they sprinkle ingredients onto a pizza?

  • +1

My local dominos has The Lot for $18 ($9 is awesome value) - tried it last week and they were generous with toppings too

  • Seems like these pizzas are hit or miss depending on how your local franchisee makes it.

    • And the staff of the day I guess

  • Had at dominos near work not enough toppings when ordered the olives were nice.
