First post, I hope I've got this right!

Johnnie Walker Double Black is already on special at First Choice @$59 (already seems the lowest $$ of all the big chains) - combine with the current sitewide special on selected drinks at First Choice using code 'saveten' brings it down to $53.10

Click through ShopBack for additional 20% cashback on Johnnie Walker products.

Notes on ShopBack say "Use of Onsite Promo codes are eligible for cashback" so should be all good to double dip.

Mod note: Price in title should not include cashback (commission refunds). Guideline

I understand that you can only use Shopback promo codes, can you advise where it says onsite promo codes are ok please

    • It's in the 'Notes' section. On the ShopBack website, it's on the left side under 'When will I get my Cashback' and on the app, it's in a grey box under the cashback % amounts.

This is on ShopBack website for First Choice:

Shop the Johnnie Walker Family, home of exceptional Scotch whiskies
    Up to 30% CashbackDetails
    Shop Now
    Expiry Date 05 November 2023

    • Thanks, I did see that but clicking on 'details' didn't give me anything.
Currently the % back rates table only lists 20% for Johnnie Walker so figure it's safe to assume 20% and anything else might be a bonus - still brings it down to $43.45 assuming it all tracks ok!

      • Its up to 30pct. Up to.

I think James Squire is 30% and Johnny is 20%.

        And only certain JS products.

        • Can a Shopback rep clarify if the 24 pack of JS Stride is also 30%?

          • +1

@er1992: I'm not a rep but Shopback site actually lists the case as eligible for 30%.
Unlike the promo code the OP is using which is NOT listed.

  • What are people's comparisons with Black vs Double Black?

    • i would also like to know how this compares to gold and triple gold?

F*** you, I hope this is your first and last deal you ****** in a ***** on the end of a ****** while ***** gets ******.

Sorry but you didn't say 'go easy on me' after stating you were a first time poster. I always wondered what would happen..

      Are you OK, mate?

I appreciated the angle of the humour, even if others did not. I also wonder how many L posts you’ve opened waiting for this moment.

Haha I knew it was a risk posting such a comment on Ozbargain, the most tame jokes seem edgy here.
To answer your question (statement) - all of them. I have looked through every L post for the past 5 and a half years to write this comment, but every single one starts with "first post, please go easy on me"

Mine has tracked as 1% cashback it seems.

Shopback notes state that onsite promo codes are eligible and that it may take up to 2 weeks for James Squire and Johnnie Walker purchases to be validated. Assume they've just assigned you the standard cashback rate for spirits/whisky until they can validate it.

      Reckon you should be sweet.

      • Thanks for that, I hope so because otherwise I’ll be tempted to let it refund.

Seems like other people have had this issue, not to mention issues with Shopback and First Choice in general.

Mine cashback just confirmed and it wasn't 20%. I'm spewing.

      • I already drank it :(

        • are there any reps hear from shopback anymore?

          • @cumova: You could try @gotyourback

            • +1

@WhyAmICommenting: thanks. they actually got back to my ticket. they manually credited the cashback as a bonus back in Oct (didn't even notice it) which is nice. people probably shopuld check the transaction history for it.

  • Hmm bought two bottle of double black from first choice yesterday and cashback only tracked 1.x%? Anyone else had this issue?

    • Same issue, when I try to report it says to check again later today so I'm going to wait a day and submit a "missing cashback" request.
