JBL Stage A130 Bookshelf Speakers, Pair, Two-Tone Wood $419 (-31%) Delivered @ Selby Acoustics

120

Amazing deal, lowest ever, I think. A130s are top choice in this price bracket. $599 elsewhere.

Super review by @amirm here "JBL Stage A130 gets one of my highest recommendations". This guy is serious.

"If you’re looking for a great well priced speaker, go for the JBL stage a130 for $495, it received their highest recommendation and blew me away compared to the RP’s (I own both)" by @readerr0r here on Ozb

Also 31% off on the rest of JBL Stage

Got A130 week ago, happy! Now, should I plug the bass reflex ports with old socks?

Only $398.05 on ebay if you use the code OCT5UPA

    • Good find, it was not there a week ago, looks like JBL authorised drop. But Selby is a nice good store, I rate.

      • ooof those Stage 190s at $1,500…. very very good pricing for close to end stage speakers

i have spent too much money with Harman companies

        i have a question for A130 owners

i auditioned a set of these and I found them to be a tad bass light, even with the test amp which was well over $1,000+

my other set of speakers is the one before this, the Arena 130 and you may say… they would be similar

but the Arenas have a 7" driver and really is my benchmark for bookshelfs with bass

i have another set with 6.5" drivers and they dont hit as hard as the Arenas

        • I was not chasing bass because I have a sub, Yamaha SW100, and I set in my receiver (Yamaha RX-V385) all speakers to "Small" (this enables the sub), crossover to 80Hz and it works pretty good!

          • @nuker: i get that

i have 3 subs… 8" 10" and 12" and I tend to not use any of them much given i have kids who sleep at weird times and i dont have heap of time to watch movies

            i found sub bass 'travels'

bass in speakers doesnt so much but still gives a good room feel given large enough cabinet size

            • @tonyjzx: lol, place that sub on three layers of felt pads?

      • If you prefer to pay 5% extra (well 8% accounting for ebay gift cards) that's your choice.
Not really the OzB way though.

for me, buying on eBay feels like I have to wash hands afterwards. No other store gives me this feeling. Now count in that hand wash :)

How does this compete with q acoustics 3030i?

      • would love to know the answer to this one!

      • +1

I'd risk this: have sub? A130, else 3030i.
        (ducks)

      • I have no idea; both have very good reviews. However, the 3030i is in a higher price range, and it's big.

      • I'd pick JBL over Q Acoustics personally, but I'm not going to pretend I'm giving an educated answer as I haven't heard either of these specific models

  • Wish they had a 31% off on the L82's, I'd be all over that!
