Kids Bike (60cm) - Budget $200

Have been looking for a 60cm bike for my daughter who is a beginner. My budget is $200.
I found these two bikes which looks good and but the progear one is bit outside budget ( $189 + $107 for C&C with assembly).

Any better option in this budget?
Also any idea if the above Kmart one good option ?

    How heavy is each bike?

That will make a huge difference for a beginner….

Not sure who downvoted you JV, here's a upvote from me.

Yes, a lighter bike is much easier to ride, especially for beginners.

I'd get a larger bike as they are likely to outgrow it quickly.

I found buying a second hand one off gumtree or Facebook Marketplace to be the best method for kids bikes.

    a) There's an argument that kids grow out of small bikes fast and $200 represents less value.

    b) There's lots of them as kids of other parents grow out of kids bikes and want to offload them sometimes cheap.

    c) In general avoid Kmart bikes.

Kids outgrow 60cm bikes quickly. Get the cheap 60cm one and save for a good quality 70cm bike which your kid will be using much longer.

    Make sure they include pedals.

  • How tall is your daughter?

  • Look for a 2nd hand bike. So many are in great condition. $500 bikes go for less than $200.
Kmart bikes are heavy and the ergonomics are not as good as a decent brand bike.
I just picked a 24” giant bike this week for $100 for my daughter.

  • So many good bikes on fb marketplace going for cheap. Keep an eye on a brand you are after) go for a proper bike brand not kmart) and you'll eventually find a good deal.
