$10 Abandoned Cart Voucher (Account Required) @ Total Tools

821

I was going to spend $500+ at Totaltools over the weekends but ended up with Tools Warehouse for better deal and left with a shopping cart full of stuff.
Checked email this morning, Totaltools offered me a $10 voucher code.

Logged in, cleared my cart, used that code with my remaining insider dollar to buy a set of screwdrivers, bargain!

I've often thought that there needs to be an "abandoned cart gift" in the wiki section of ozbargain.

    • +2

It is a wiki. You should do it.

Too busy organising 90% off deals with Dell

Thanks OP I have put In my cart a crane for $875k. Looking forward to my $12k abandoned cart voucher.

      Why the negs

      • -4

For some weird reason nothing attracts negs like asking why strangers took fake internet points off you.

        Here, have a +1.

        • +1

I'm more curious if they think it's wrong.

    • The coupon code is not valid.

  • +68

This is online only. They just look really annoyed with me when I do this in-store.

I did this instore. Filled my trolley with $500+ tools, then i abandoned it. Store manager came up to me and handed me a $10 note. Walked out and bought lunch.

I have bought the 15% off ultimate gc to use at this joint for a mitre saw, except it didn’t work in store, something to do with the pos setup. The shop keep is very nice and had to move the saw in and out, wonder if anyone had a similar experience with Ultimate gc at total tools? (I’m in the middle of charging back the gc, bought a secondhand saw for $50.)

    • worked fine, no issues at all (at total tools and other stores)

      • Must be my local store then.

        • Did you try it as eftpos or a giftcard?

          • +2

@2024: Eftpos tap, same as I did in Officeworks. Blackhawks support then told me I was trying to use it in a shop that was not total tools after I asked for a refund 😅. Not sure how that works but yeah, it’s not a company I’d want to support in the future.

    • I had the same experience and it was a massive pain. Happened to me at the Geelong store. Ended up price matching it at my local Mitre 10 instead because the gift cards worked in-store there.

      • +1

Oh didn’t realise Mitre 10 is on the list too. I love my Mitre 10, they are very friendly and helpful, just much further than Bunnings. Total tools support said I could use the gc online, but only one per transaction. So it does look like they have some internal issues going on.

My local Total Tools are massive tools, I have given up shopping there.

    • +6

So their business name refers to staff, not product?

    • +2

So you get what you pay for..? 😅

I went bought a few things, and left my cart aimlessly for 20 mins next to my car and waited, nothing i tell you.

    Just here for the comments

  • Is there minimum spend for the voucher?

    • nope

Is passing school exams like getting a participation trophy now? Wth is this person saying…

"I placed an order a month ago, but after reading all the review, I didn’t put any expectation I will ever receive any items from them, surprisingly the parcel turns up. With half of the price I have for the item, I think this worth a wait."

i.e. What is: "I didn't put any expectation" and.. "With half of the price I have for the item…"

      As for: "I think this worth a wait…" It's: "I think IT… WAS… worth THE… wait…"

      So many illiterates!

  • Cart? I like it when websites use Australian English instead of Seppo, and call it a shopping trolley.
Have people started calling them carts at the supermarket yet?

    • Too many syllables, savings are made in cart

    • Let me help:

      • A cage on wheels to push items around in store before purchasing: Trolley / Shopping trolley
      • A digital holding area for items you want to purchase while continuing to browse website: Cart
      • What an absurd post-hoc rationalisation :)

  • Total Tools > Daylight > Sydney Tools

  • For a second there, I thought that you meant a reward for returning a literal trolley

  • the discount came out this morning. They must have set it up to be active only on weekends or something, it didnt trigger during weekdays for me.

  • I left two items in my cart and received a reminder email the next day but no voucher.

    • Wait for few days, it took me 4 days and got $10 discount this morning

  • Interesting that some are getting the voucher and some aren't. Be keen to figure out what the difference is.

The day this deal posted, I:

    • joined TT
    • put a single $300-$350 item in my cart
    • received 4-5 days of email reminders about items in my cart, but no voucher

What did others do that was successful?

  • Thanks OP, this worked a treat! It took me 2 days to get an abandoned cart voucher.

Also, being a completely new account member, I bought a $100 gift card from the website using an Ultimate gift card (it acts like a Visa credit card) which instantly updated me to "Bronze tier" which gave me an additional $10 insider reward.

Not too shabby if you are eyeing something expensive:
    $10 abandoned cart voucher
    $10 insider bonus
10% off using Ultimate Home gift card.

  • Tried a few different carts and I can't get it to trigger. I have spent a fair bit with them over the past 3 years (>$4000 /year) so perhaps it only targets lower spending accounts.
