    Specs:

    Input: 100-240V~ 2.1A 50-60Hz
    Output: 3.0 A @ 5.0 V; 3.0 A @ 9.0 V; 3.0 A @ 15.0 V; 3.25 A @ 20.0 V (65W Max)

Note: this charger won't do Samsung's 'Super Fast Charging 2.0' as it's missing the PPS 5A protocol.

If you do need SFC2.0, I would recommend the Zyron 65W Gan 3 Charger.

    • +2

To clarify, SFC 2.0 is 45W charging which is supported by some devices, e.g. the S22+ and 23+ and Ultra, and the + and Ultra models of the Tab S7 onwards.

FWIW the difference between Samsung's 25W (SFC 1.0) and 45W (SFC 2.0) isn't that big.

    • According to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPSmH77Osi0 it has PPS mode for 5-21V so it should work. I would be surprised if any mainstream charger in 2023 would not have the full spectrum of PD support.

      • +3

The devil is in the detail; SFC 2.0 requires 9V 5A while this charger can only put out a max of 3.25A at any voltage.

      • It will do SFC 1.0, but not SFC 2.0, as per reasons pointed out by eug

    • Thanks, I didn't know it was quite this nuanced lol.

  • Man so tempting so I don't have to lug the brick charger for my work Dell.

Anyone recommend a good 65w or more cable for this?

    • Technically any cable with eMarker would do 65W. Even without eMarker would still do 60W which is close enough.

Search 100W PD cable on OzB and sort by price would do.

Or you can always resort to Apple. The new 240W cable is great. However it ain’t cheap (as it’s Apple).

These are a bit of a mixed bag for me.

These perform okay but at the rrp they leave performance on the table.

They have okay ripple, fairly high power efficiency at 92%, low idle power performance and THD so you can leave them plugged in.. But that's where it stops.

It lacks Power Factor Correction but at this wattage it's maybe okay, THD fluctuates at mid to high power usage, missing some QoL life features like automatically resetting and renegotiating if need be, missing >3A output so you might not be able to charge the newer Samsung phones at full speed, can get a bit toasty, etc

Overall this is just better than the cheap stuff but not great or anything given the price.

Great review! What do you suggest for cheap and cheerful 65w minimum multiport GAN?

  • I'm looking for a very compact 65W USB-C charger for laptop/phone charging while away from home, happy with just 1 port and not fussed about having the highest-end charging capabilities. Is this the best option at this price range, or can anyone suggest any alternatives?
