Thanks OP. Time to grab another, they’re awesome.
Thanks bought 10
Good but yeti is better :)
Yeti are screw top, so I’d say Zoji is better :)
Much prefer my Zoji as well.
Note this is the non-stick interior version which some people don't like
It’s only slightly carcinogenic
So is living on earth
Be careful out there
@tharlow: I think you mean "up there"
@spaceflight: In zero gravity it’s all the same to me
@tharlow: I see you, you're at 176 degrees below ISS hatch 4
Already gone
OOS
Heat retention: 189°f @ 1 hr./ 160°f @ 6 hrs, cold retention: 46°f @ 6 hrs
What was the starting temperature?
I'll be disappointed if my morning cup of molten iron is only 189°f after 1 hour
189F is 87celcius…
But that's the temperature after 1 hour
Normally they're taking about hot drinks, just under 100C
Starting temperature is the melting point of iron (obviously). When they took these measurements, they forgot to close the lid again after the first hour’s measurement — the quality assurance team decided to leave the thermometer in to monitor the progress minute to minute
If only they remembered to leave the lid on!
I think they’re doing an acceptable job seeing that all the steam escaped during the initial heat-retention testing. Changing to molten iron fixed this issue
@tharlow: At least we know the cup is probably going to be safe to put McDonald's coffee in
Just don't spill it on yourself https://edition.cnn.com/2023/09/21/business/mcdonalds-hot-co…
OOS sad
I bought it without looking at the other images on the link on Amazon, fearing it'd get OzBargained if I wasted time any longer. Thought the mug looked the image on the thumbnail, but it's actually this, a regular Zojirushi insulated bottle. I've already got two Zojirushi bottles, one I'm currently using, and an unopened one that I got on a deal. Not sure if I had to return this one or not, since it isn't the kinda of a "mug" I was expecting to arrive (of course, it's my fault to pull the trigger before doing a reasonable background check on an item on a sale, thanks to my OzBargain training :)).
Good find OP.Thanks
