Initially built as a sequel to Dirt Rally 2.0. Codemasters, the developer of the F1 series, would develop their first WRC video game after they regained licence in 2020. The last game by Codemasters with WRC licence was Colin McRae Rally 3 released in 2002, featuring the 2002 season. EA Sports would involve and publish the game after Codemasters was acquired by Electronic Arts in 2021. The game is powered by Unreal Engine, replacing Ego, which Codemasters was long-term implemented in its previous rally title, the Colin McRae Rally and Dirt series.

This item will be released on November 3, 2023.

    Jesus (profanity), what sport isn't covered by EA at this point?

    That being said, I'd love them to get the license back for AFL, might actually pickup my first AFL game since the PS2 days. I've played a bit of the newer ones and they just blow chunks. AFL 04/Premiership is still the goat.

    This looks like a really good price for console users (I'm on PC) especialy for physical version!. Good find @DASHCAM NOW DUDE

    I have been following things on this game recently and it's shaping up to be a very good follow up to the excellent Dirt Rally series. I really hope it delivers, good rally games are still very rare!

    BTW, for PC users, this game is reduced by 10% up until Nov 3rd launch and is currently $53.95 on Steam

      Does anyone know why it’s only $60? Makes me dubious with cheap rrp that it’ll be filled with micro transactions, as is the EA way.

      Regardless, $54 not bad. Seeing as I played a LOT of dirt rally 2, picked it up!

        @JMxoxo It actually looks like this game will not be like that besides EA's bad reputation for these things.

        All cars (I think its about 80) and all Locations (18) are included in the price of the base game. No mention of DLC cars or locations yet, but personally I welcome them (especially new locations) because you can never have enough in a rally game!

          Nah I agree there mate, the add ons for dirt rally 2 once a reasonable price were a great addition.
          I have a lot of hours in this so honestly this game is a no brainer.

          Love that it is this cheap considering too. I’ll definitely get my moneys worth, I love racing games hahaha

          After finally watching the two linked videos, I am definitely going to get my moneys worth.

          The main thing I note here is this VIP Rally Pass, sounds like a battle pass for this. As it says “in game seasons” just trying to read between the lines here haha

    Dunno. EA always has a way to buy dev companies and make them mediocre.
    And it’s fairly suspicious how they are selling it on preorder for such low price.

      True but the F1 games from EA have been pretty good. The deep dive videos look promising.

      The low price is really suss but you can cancel once the reviews are out.

      Gowing: EA has been absolutely fantastic to work with and we made it clear quite early on that we wanted to use this first WRC game as a gateway to the series, which we are doing in part with the low price. We also hope that new players will invest in EA Sports WRC for the simple reason that it's the most full-featured rally game we've ever made.
