[PC, Steam] BioShock Remastered I & II $4.98 Each, Infinite $9.98, The Collection $15.99 @ Steam

770

Randomly stumbled upon this deal on Steam. I've personally finished BioShock Infinite fully (and this is coming from someone who drops 80% of my games midway).
I haven't yet played I and II and I sure am tempted to snag at least Bioshock I at that price point.

Back in 2016 when they released the PS4 Bioshock collection, they gave anyone who already had either of the first two games on steam the remastered versions for free, so may be worth checking your library if you think you owned the originals back then.

Good call. Completely forgot they did this. I'm certain it's also been free on Epic at one point so may be worth checking there if you don't necessarily care what store it's on.

I sent them a picture of my Bioshock 1+2 CD keys and they gave me the steam versions along with the remasters

      Creepy.

I played BioShock Remastered I for the first time this year, and while I didn't love it, there were certainly some memorable experiences. I got 22 enjoyable hours out of it.

    • +7

What was the main reason why you didn't like the game?

      • +1

I'm puzzled, curious to hear the answer

        • +10

Same! Would you kindly tell us please?

        • Personally I loved the game until the last hour. Most of the game has riveting story telling that synergizes well with the gameplay but the section before the end feels sooo grindy and drags on a bit (until the final boss fight).

      • Too much shock, probably.

      • It's not so much that I didn't like the game, but that I didn't love it. One run through ticked all the boxes, I was satisfied.

        • -1

Likely your problem — this game offers the most value if you think outside of the boxes

          • +1

@tharlow: There was no problem. I enjoyed the game, and would recommend people check it out.

@ruinawish: Not much of a game in my opinion if there are no problems to solve

            • +1

@ruinawish: Anything less than fantasising about impregnating a Big Daddy is death in my book. BIOSHOCK IS AWESOME

  • I tried so many times to like this game but couldn't. It's just to dark for my taste (and I don't mean thematically)

    • +3

Maybe Infinite might be better for you?

    • +1

I usually play with the brightness set to 75% or so if that helps. I cannot see dark contrasty stuff too well which hinders gaming so totally understand that issue. Personally think its worth persevering because the in game story, the lore and the world building around this trilogy is incredibly good. 2K put a lot of effort into the series, it sits in my top 5 games/series easily.

      • I'm convinced. Playing it again!

        • +1

Im glad! I hope upping the brightness at the beginning helps a bit. Its such an incredible series honestly it had me enthralled for at least 6 months reading every bit of lore I could. I also think whilst infinite is definitely a brighter game overall, you sorta need the other two games for it to all make sense.

  • Was this collection free on epic in the past?

    • +1

BioShock: The Collection in May 2022, yeah

I already owned on Steam but I won't pass up on a free game

  • +4

Welcome to the circus of value! Good deal

  • +2

I wish I could experience this game again for the first time (and Infinite)!

  • Dam son, the amount of hours I spent on the original BioShock…..

  • I've personally finished BioShock Infinite fully

I think it’s much better to do it impersonally, and not take the risk of getting emotionally involved
