It was normally around $999 or less. I bought a new fridge a few months ago but had been tracking prices for months before that, including this fridge.
Reviews don't seem promising?
https://www.westinghouse.com.au/fridges-and-freezers/fridges…That's funny. At top of page is an alert about some product recall, and bottom of page is user reviews trashing this fridge!
One of the reviews complains about the door sticking after recently closed. The only fridge I've ever noticed this problem is my Westinghouse bottom-mount fridge.
Another review complains about the noise. This could be because of the "fast chill" feature. I did some digging when I was shopping for fridge, and found out some fridges use a high efficiency compressor, where the motor runs faster than normal fridge compressors. You get the higher energy star rating as a result, and faster cooling, but the price of that is more noise - a high pitch noise, and deal-breaker for some.
So, to buy or not to buy?
Mother in law has a Westinghouse fridge like this but a different model and it's so loud you can hear it two rooms away with the door closed.
Reviews seem to indicate that this is "normal"F that
Fridge that?

$50 cap on shopback, so $829.12
Did you get it?
Got two, at $177 each.
Unfortunately, everything I purchased since has left me feeling comparitively unfrugal and just a little bit dirty…
They did for me. Said they do it for all their gracious and appreciative customers…
how to be gracious when they spit in your face
Id probably report that, it's assault, and it's not ok.
Some places charge extra for that sort of service.
Perhaps start by not calling them cvnts if you are hoping they will go the extra mile beyond what they’ve been engaged to do?
@UncleRico: what is it they are engaged to do? That's my point - every other retailer provides packaging removal as part of their base service. When did TGG stoop so low and still charges $50 for delivery?
@CptnObvious: Delivery is different to unpack and dispose of rubbish.
Manners > Entitlement…
@UncleRico: My point is how low TGG has gone to offer such a no frill service.
Manner wise, I treated them to my fresh cookies and milk, but they looked at me with distaste and spat on me. Turns out one of them was lactose intolerant.
@CptnObvious: JB Hifi do not unbox and remove packaging unless you pay more either and probably a few more retailers that don't. Every other retailer does not provide unboxing and package remove as standard.
@8azinga: JB does (unusually given they are TGG owners). Powerland does. Appliance central does. That's service.
@CptnObvious: You might want to check again. This is what shows up at checkout if you add a fridge to JB hifi

Appliance central definitely has removal in their base delivery, so do Powerland. They are better on price too.

- Install options: Delivery, Install and Remove old appliance- FREE
You can pay the extra $30 if you want that.
Small problems. I've been waiting for a week for this item to be delivered from TGG because they're a bunch of useless idiots who couldn't organise a root in a brothel and don't care about their customers at all. Finally, on day 7 of living out of an esky I expect to get delivery of this item today.
I don't think that's acceptable. Given that we are now paying a premium for delivery we should be vocal about unsatisfactory service. Else the standards just keeps dropping.
bought this few months ago
50% at $799 is utter bullshit
otherwise pretty happy with it, lots of space inside
so do youmean it is overpriced still? {{
its ok price,
i paid about 1khappy with the fridge, bit surprised how much stuff (mostly drinks) i can fit it after a F&P
Samsung ones didnt have the shelf flexibility that this hasbut 800$ at 50% is pure bullshit, it never was 1600$ anywhere
Some user said this fridge is really noisy, do you experience the same with your unit? I'm interested to buy, but worried that it's noisy
Went to TGG yesterday, but they don't have display set. Was told that can add 5yr warranty for additional $149
@DarthLord: its' not noisy,
but it does run a lot, definitely, i think thats what he meantbut you can barely hear it
I haven't bought a fridge in a decade. Is it common now to have no storage in the freezer door?
I can't decide if this is a good thing (more space in main freezer compartment) or a bad thing (less 'separate' space for quick-access items
same. my old fridge was oooold.
blown away how much space this has in comparison, that was my main concern
not even sure what you mean about freezer space, i would disagree tbh
my only regret was not buying it sooner
Saw this price a month and a half ago.
I didnt buy this fridge because when i saw it on display the shelf thing that holds the milk bottle was broken in the shop if it couldnt survive the display show room wont make it my house hold hahah
Bought this to upsize and honestly regret not going with LG instead. Saved some cash and looks ok but it's noisy AF compared to the LG which ran very quiet.
Is the noise a high-pitch noise from compressor? Or do you mean some other noise like fan, or vibration?
If you mean the high-pitch "cricket" noise that compressors make when running, it's due to the high-efficiency compressor in fridges with high energy star ratings and "fast cool" features. They run faster than regular compressors, and produce more noise as a result. I ended up putting sound dampening foam tiles at back of my fridge, which helped to reduce the noise, but only a little bit. I wish I'd known, I would have avoided this type of fridge.
Can you move the doors to the other side, i.e. make it left-hinged?
not reversible
I thought this was RRP for the Xbox Series X?
