  • Thanks Tom, ordered

    • Woohoo, that's fantastic to hear @Junglegreen thank you so much!

  • Just for the slow ones that haven't had their coffee yet (like myself) … select the free shipping under the shipping methods.
It wasn't selected automatically on my end.

Morning @sdfgsdf6478 thank you so much for placing another terrific order with us, it really does mean so much!

Sincerely appreciate you letting everyone know to be on their checkout A game, don't want people missing out of free shipping if their order qualifies for it. Our settings are such that it does autoselect free shipping for orders or $69 or more. However, if you've placed an order with us before or have a Shop Shopify account there's a chance your browser could override our settings by auto selecting whichever shipping option you previously selected. It's easy to override manually (just click on "Terrific, you've unlocked complimentary shipping :)" or clearing your browser cache which should do the trick too, first time orders shouldn't need to worry about clearing their cache :)

  • Hi! Any recommendations on a strong coffee? I need something that is capable of waking up two parents of two kids and give them the will and oomph to go through the day.

    • +1

Do your own research, but the lighter roasts actually contain more caffeine on average. The bitterness/full bodied flavour profile of a dark roast might give you that "jolt" to make you feel awake though. Whatever works for you, I don't think there is a big difference either way.

      • +1

        Interesting. Thanks for the info!

      • +2

I used to believe this as well but light and dark roasts actually contain pretty much the same amount of caffeine gram for gram. The confusion comes from measuring your beans using a scooper as lighter roasts are smaller in size than darker roasts, so you'll be able to fit more beans per scoop.

        • I think that bean size is far more dependent on origin (eg Africans I've roasted are bloody tiny).

    • Morning @pichxlonco great question!

Both of the options should do the trick so you're ready for almost anything the day throws at you. If you enjoy more of a chocolate coffee or have milk with your coffee then 100% go our Colombia Cauca (it's also delicious as a black coffee). If you like a nice acidity kick, enjoy more fruity notes and enjoy your coffee black then our Kenya Maguta is a terrific option for you :)

      • Thanks!

        • @pichxlonco :)

      cocaine

    • I'm not sure if coffee is the answer (speaking from experience), but I keep trying too…

  • Whens the next FBC? (Frequent Buyers Cub?)

    • Morning @Jay-rad appreciate you taking the time to reach out and it's terrific to hear you're keen on the next FBC round!

Due to increased shipping costs and us not wanting to increase our coffee prices for our customers we had to make a few changes a little while back. Some changes were in the background, these things you wouldn't notice/they wouldn't impact you, e.g. changing some software… Other changes you would notice included removing Afterpay and putting a pause on launching our next FBC round. I personally love our FBC, so I've got my fingers crossed we'll be able to bring it back again some time in the future :)

      • Aww bummer. Thanks Tom. Make sure to send out an email when its up and running. Would gladly sign up again

        • Fantastic, sounds like a plan!

          Sure thing, will do :)

  • +1

I see a Kenyan so but it's not nyeri. It's maguta with a different price. Did I miss something?

    • Yeah, I'm also wondering if this is more like the CM or the Nyeri SO…

      • +1

        Morning @Motozine appreciate the query!

This Kenya Maguta I'd say is right down the middle of the two, it has the acidity kick and sweetness similar to that of the Nyeri's, with fruity notes more similar to the CM, I think the best of both worlds :)

    • Hey @shiny1 appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

I can confirm the price is exactly the same as our recent Nyeri SO and Nyeri Peaberry. This Kenya SO Maguta and Nyeri are from the exact same region within Kenya. We received a bit of feedback that the names were too similar (people emailed saying I can't tell the difference in the descriptions, people clarify…) when we had a regular SO and Peaberry from the same region, so we've just got more specific with the name of this one. Furthermore, I wanted to highlight that although some flavour properties are similar to the Nyeri e.g. acidity level, this particular SO is a Natural Processed coffee, the Nyeri's SO's were Washed, so the flavour of this Nyeri (Maguta) is still equally delicious but in a notably different way…In a nutshell, I didn't want people in a rush who ordered the Nyeri off us seeing "Nyeri" in the title, not reading the description, ordering and then wondering why this coffee tastes notably fruitier :)

      • Thanks for the detailed reply. I was going to try it regardless but got confused with the naming. Love the tea like beans.

        • Fantastic to hear @shiny1, thank you so much in advance!

Always better to ask than wonder :)

  • +1

How do you do it, Tom? You always seem to know just when I'm ready to order more coffee. :D

Gonna get me some of the Kenyan SO, the first lot I tried was great. Normally I prefer the earthier tones of the South American coffees over the brighter notes you often see in African beans, but these Kenyans are really very nice.

    • Morning @Chazzozz it's just magic…I wish I knew how the secret of how the timing is working so well for you haha

How terrific to hear, thank you so much for another fantastic order, your continued support really does mean the world!

This Kenyan does lean towards the fruitier end, with many of the same qualities you enjoyed so much for our other recent Kenyans. If you know what you like then you know, but sometimes it can be good to mix it up a bit and take a walk on the wild side as well :)

    Dearest LimeBlueCoffee,

Can you please recommend a bean, either on this page or your entire store, that is suitable for Japanese style, pour over, iced coffees?

    TYSM!

    • Morning @ausmomo sincerely appreciate you taking the time to reach out with such a detailed (more detail the better) question!

My understanding (and I could be wrong) than more traditional Japanese style pour over iced coffee leans toward the chocolate end of the flavour scale, is this your goal or would you like more acidic fruity notes?

      • Chocolate-y sounds good :)

        • +1

Sure thing, we've got you covered there!

Here's your best options from most to least chocolate all towards more of the chocolate end of the flavour scale. SWP Decaf, Brazil São Paulo Single Origin or Moments to Memoires :)

  • +2

Thanks for marking "Suits both black and white coffees" & putting two options there, made my choice easy.

    • +1

Sure thing @pilmarion we have noticed not many but a few people not reading the full description on our product pages before placing their order, so we thought it may be helpful to put the suits black, white or both comment on the deal info too. Glad you found the addition helpful to make the ordering process easier :)

Thank you so much for placing another order and taking the time to share your helpful feedback, it really is appreciated!

  • Thanks - ordered 3kg for the company!

    • Woohoo that's fantastic to hear, thank you so much, I hope you and your team love our fresh coffee!!!

  • +1

Hey Tom - I loved the Kenyan SO I had ordered a month ago, using it for pour over. I believe that one was Washed, and not Natural. How'd you compare the taste between those? Tempted to order more :) Cheers

    • +1

Hey @isbandana love the sound of "tempted to order more" and it's fantastic know how much you've been enjoying our recently featured Kenya Single Origin!

Great question. So the acidity/brightness/kick and sweetness will both be on comparable levels between the two Kenyans. The flavour notes will be notably different. This Natural Kenyan is far closer to the fruity end of the flavour spectrum. The fruitness added to which that it's a bit of a lighter roasted than the Kenya Washed Nyeri you've been enjoying means two things. First the Maguta is best suited to black coffees, whereas the Washed Nyeri was delicious for both black and white (milk based) coffees. Second, you'll need a coarser grind for the Maguta, not a huge point to highlight in terms of a purchase choice, more of a helpful heads up for a smooth post purchase experience :)

  • Interested. If I order beans, do I have to freeze them as well?

    • Hey @Colombian I like the sounds of "interested," fingers crossed "interested" turns into "ordered."

Freezing is optional, but highly recommended if it'll take for much longer than a month to get through your order :)

  • Hi Tom, How's the supply chain for the Sao Paulo going… any chance of a deal for this in the near future? If it's still scarce I might have to go for the Columbia Cauca to keep us going! Cheers

    • Hey @scoothardly appreciate the reach out!

Unfortunately still scarce, last I checked tracking said the boat would arrive in September, now the update is October and even if that's accurate, customs could take anywhere from a week to a month to clear the container… I've been asking for updates so many times I think I'm probably one ask away from them blocking my emails and calls, but then again squeaky wheel gets the oil haha I'm got my fingers crossed there's a miracle, the boat finds a new gear and the day it arrives customs decide they want to beat their personal best for the most containers cleared in a single day…perhaps wishful thinking.

If you're super keen on our Brazil we do have just enough to fulfil any full priced orders (as well as existing orders) or you could mix it up and get our Colombia Cauca to tie you over :)

  • Thanks ordered.

    • Fantastic, thank you so much!!!

  • Is the Kenyan a real fruit bomb? I go towards the fruitier / funkier beans, so just wondering if this will be what I’m after.

    • +1

      Hey @NedStark102 terrific question!

Your specific personal preference details is most helpful. Yes, this Kenyan is a fruit bomb, but with the higher acidity cleaner qualities of high quality Kenyans. If by a "funkier" fruit bomb you are keen for the more fermented (longer aftertaste, more winey fruit notes) and fuller bodied fruit bombs, then either our El Salvador Usulután Carbonic Maceration or Colombia Santa Elena may be the best options for you :)

  • Brazil SO next please good sir.

    • Hey @Blu hard to push back against a "good sir," has a nice top hat world spin to it :)

Unfortunately we're in limbo for a Brazil deal as more stock is currently on the water somewhere in the world. At present we only have enough Brazil in stock to cover any upcoming full-priced orders or already exiting orders. I'm doing all I can to magically will the new shipment to port, fingers crossed it gets here soon!

      • It's all good. You shipped my 3 bags from the last deal today. Hopefully they last until you're able to get more.

  • Wanted to try the Kenyan but no pour over grind :(

    • +3

It's a personal choice but I believe you are losing a lot of flavour by buying pre-ground coffee.

      I would buy a grinder.

  • Ordered!

    • Woohoo, thank you so much :)

  • Yummm! But waiting for the Brazil.. Still got 1 1/2 bags tho :)

    • Hey @Gloomy woohoo for "Yummm!" hard to find a better one word compliment than that!

We're still eagerly waiting for the next shipment to arrive, so until further notice we've only got our Brazil available at full price. I've got my fingers crossed for you that the timing works out and your 1.5 bags is just enough to tie you over :)

  • aewsome, looking forward to my cacau hit! great work, as always Tom

    • Absolutely fantastic, thank you so much for placing another terrific order with us!!!

Very happy to hear you're looking forward to our Cauca and that we're in your good books, we'll keep working hard to stay there :)

  • Literally ran out this morning of my first purchase, jumped straight back on this, the Colombia Cauca Single Origin is great.

    • +1

      Woohoo for perfect timing :)

It's terrific to know how much you enjoy our Colombia Cauca Single Origin, really appreciate you ordering again, thank you so much!

  • do you do decaf?

  • Bought some beans from another vendor on here and instantly regret it.
In fairness they are a darker blend(my choice) and worked well with my average grinder (rocky).

But i now have a better grinder and (id like to think) technique, which really brings out the subtle flavours of a mid roast SO.
The darker roasted beans remind me of a starbucks or 711 coffee :(
Strong, but without any flavour notes.

  • I have a v60, which bean would you recommend for pour overs out of the two? As well as for immersion brewing

    • Hey @undien appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

From extraction ad flavour perfectives, both of these are terrific for Pour Over, so it really comes down to your personal flavour preference.

A few quick questions will hopefully enable me to point you in the right direction:
      1) Do you have your coffee black or with milk? I assume black, but some people do have milk with pour over, so best to ask first
      2) 1 besting highly acidic, 10 being low in acidity, what's your number?
3)1 being super fruity, 10 being super chocolate, what's you number?

      • Thanks for replying :)

        1) without milk
        2) around 4
        3) no preference

        • Sure thing @undien appreciate the speedy answers!

Based on your 3 answers I believe you'll find both of these coffees delicious, so perhaps you could get a small bag of both. That said if you're only keen to get one, then our Kenya Maguta is likely the winner for you by a small margin, simply because the acidity level is a bit higher than our Colombia Cauca :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Oh sorry, I meant 6 haha I clearly didn't have my morning coffee at that time.

I guess that means the reverse where you'd recommend Colombia then?

            • @undien: haha no stress @undien

The Colombia Cauca is a bit lower in acidity than the Kenya Maguta, so may just edge over the line first for you. However, I still think you'd likely enjoy both of them. Go the Kenya if you don't mind an extra little bit of an acidity kick with lots of fruity flavour notes. Go the Colombia is you would prefer chocolate notes with fruity notes present, but a bit more in the background with a good amount of an acidity kick, just less than our Kenya Maguata :)

  • Thanks mate, ordered your Columbia roast to give it a try!

    • You're most welcome @BargainsGrabber !

Thank you so much for your order, it really does mean so much, fingers crossed you love our Colombia Cauca :)

  • Just putting a relatively large order (for myself) to qualify for free shipping.

Can I ask for your advise on freezing the beans - do I literally just throw it into the freezer, then when I'm ready to grind them, let it defrost (in the fridge or at room?) and should be good as fresh?

    • Woohoo that's terrific to hear @b-t thank you so much for placing such a fantastic first order with us, it's truly appreciated!

I'm glad you've taken the time to reach out, always better to ask than wonder. The best results you'll find find from pre-portioning vacuum sealing and then freezing. However, you don't need to do all that to get a great result. You can just "throw" (gently place haha) the sealed bag in your freezer (if you have zip lock bags and want to be extra safe, put the sealed bag into a zip lock bag and then into your freezer). Then when you're ready to get stuck into a new bag, simply take it out of your freezer and use it straight away or let it defrost at roof temp, don't worry about using the fridge :)

      • Fantastic, thank you so much for the explanation!

        • You're most welcome @b-t glad you found it helpful!

Hope you love our coffee :)

  • Anyone with the breville barista express what grind settings do you recommend and the grams and the brew time?

In other words anyone got a Recipe?

    • +2

Hey @George Washington appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

We put brew guide recipes on every bag we send out, you're welcome to email us with any questions after you've pulled a shot or two :)

  • Hi rep @LimeBlueCoffee
Is the Brazil SO supposed to taste acidic. The one i was sent does not taste right (not sure if its the coffee or my palate)

    • Hey @easternculture appreciate you taking the time to reach out and thank you so much for your recent order with us!

Always better to ask than wonder. Our Brazil SO is not a highly acidic coffee, so I wouldn't say it's the coffee or your palate, it sounds more like you're potentially experiencing channeling or another form of underextraction. Good news is this should be easy to fix by simply adjusting your extraction setting. I'd be happy to help you tweak the settings, simply send a reply email to your order confirmation stating the make and model of equipment you're using and we'll take things from there :)

      • Cool. Ill email you. Thanks for the quick response

        • :)
