Are you married to the "Cancer drinks" people from the Pepsi post?
lol you’d think so haha. Nah she just drinks water and thinks me drinking it sets a bad example for our toddler and you know what she is probably right. But tbh I just couldn’t pass it up at 75cents a can and grabbed one. Wish me luck!
Mr high-level $imp detected. Can't drink a coke because of the missus :)
@Edog: Once you've had a few relatives die of bowel cancer who were prolific coke drinkers you'll start to wonder maybe there is a link.
Maybe there isn't
Happy for people to take the risk, but I have come off drinking 10 cans a day and miss it but I also know I'd rather be wrong
@itshammer: I know that sugar-sweetened drinks like regular Coke have been linked to bowel/colon cancer in studies, but I am not aware of a link between artificially-sweetened drinks and cancer.
Drink it from a mug.
I drink Diet Coke heaps and just tell my kids it’s adult drink, so they don’t touch it. When they are older, they can make their own decision :)
Just have a couple of sneaky 9am toilet break cokes
Haha thinking more along the lines of where can I hide this big box of coke in our city sized apartment?
Take it to work :)
Cheeky desk colas
@Jimothy Wongingtons: Get it delivered to work; that's what I do!
@coxymla: Same! Keeping my office fridge and private stationary cabinet of snacks stocked.

https://www.who.int/news/item/14-07-2023-aspartame-hazard-an…
Aspartame is Sweetner 951 included in Coke No Sugar as well as Pepsi Max
JECFA concluded that the data evaluated indicated no sufficient reason to change the previously established acceptable daily intake (ADI) of 0–40 mg/kg body weight for aspartame. The committee therefore reaffirmed that it is safe for a person to consume within this limit per day. For example, with a can of diet soft drink containing 200 or 300 mg of aspartame, an adult weighing 70kg would need to consume more than 9–14 cans per day to exceed the acceptable daily intake, assuming no other intake from other food sources.
People who are drinking 9 to 14 cans of diet soft drink a day probably have bigger issues to worry about than the possibility of cancer, I feel.
and going above adi doesnt really mean anything anyway lol, im sure all these people go well above their recommended sodium intakes and dont give a damn
No concrete evidence that sodium is bad for you
@cheekymonkey97: Ironic
Diet would consist of various fried foods washed down with some diet soft drinks because of calories.
Even if it doesn't give you cancer, aspartame has been shown to be toxic to gut bacteria in a dosage comparable to common daily intake. That alone is reason to avoid it.
toxic to gut bacteria
Changing gut microbiome != toxic to gut microbiome
Any change in diet will change ur gut microbiome, the same way dropping sugar and going NNS will CHANGE your gut microbiome.
Changing gut microbiome != toxic to gut microbiome

@abjsdhasehasee: Cool story bud, you can go back to watching TV now.
I can attest to that, I'd never had such bad cramping and gas until I started drinking these "diet" drinks. It wasn't until I stopped drinking them that I realised how bad it was and that's just what I experienced over a short period. I don't think many of these artificial sweeteners have been tested anywhere near as well as they should have been. There has been a lot of things over time that were called safe at some point until they weren't.
