Always wanted a pair of pumps as a kid.

Been checking on them semi-regularly.

This is not a bad deal and they have my size but I don’t think the colorway is for me.

Please buy them up before I change my mind.

30% off discounted at checkout.

Bought a pair of these and my FT% went from 80% to 8%….

But now you don't need to fake the funk on a nasty dunk.

  • I thought Shaq alrleady attacked and indeed bought this company?? :)

  • Is Shaq still part of that global initiative to get a pair of shoes for every poor kid or something?

    • Don't know about that but his Walmart shoes have sold millions at a very low price point.

      • That might be associated. I know he was also tied to an initiative that yeah, was supposed to like, make sure every child had a pair of shoes.

      • +1

More than 400 million pairs actually (over 1 million a month) with shoes starting from about $20

        There's an interesting video here

      • are they good shoes?

    • I saw Shaq's shoes at Target the other week. It was selling at a cheap price point

    Will this pump my confidence

    @rosebank

  • I don't think the pump work on these retros. It's just for show.

    • They do work. But they're dodgy

      • This turned me off buying a (different) pair tbh. Don’t know why they do this. Bring back the actual Pump, I say!

copped some omnizones a few months back….pump works fine…it's a gimmick to begin with, for over 30 years now.

if you want your shoes tighter, tighten the laces - its how every other pair of lace up shoes have worked for centuries, including all the other ones you own today!

      • Ditto! I got mine for maybe $100ish with some cashback and the pump on one shoe works fine; the other shoe is a dud. I figured I’d rather just keep the cashback than risk losing it over a pair of shoes I wanted but am not super keen on

  • Lakers colours

    🤢 yuck 🤢

Always wanted a pump but the reviews not great, all synthetic materials unlike the leather from original pumps

  • The Pumps I tried at the store - they dont actually pump. So I tried another pair, I could feel the air inflating by it didn't really fill the shoe sole to make any sort of tighter fit. I asked the store assistant and she confirmed, its a gimmick these days. Targeting people who were teens in the 80s/90s for nostalgia.

I had pumps as a teen in the 90s, I remember they worked and they did do a tighter fit. It was cool and fun back then. And in Germany, the school kids judged you on the shoes you wore. So we all got our mums to buy the latest nikes and reeboks (I now see why AU has school uniforms). Don't get me wrong, they were a gimmick back then too, but at list a working gimmick. Reebok Black-Top Pumps! how those were some cool looking shoes.

If anyone has got pumps and they actually work well, I'd be interested to know which ones please.

The teardown basically shows the "bladder" is just in the tongue and top area of the shoe…. which is basically useless as that's how you lace the shoes up. I remember my pumps (when I was a kid) had the bladder that wrapped around the back of foot (around your ankle)…

Plus the hexalite is a tiny square under the shoe…

… they really cheaped out with these shoes, they look like the originals from the outside but in reality they are nothing like them.

      • I know right!?! I'd have given them my money if they actually worked as they did back then. Too bad, nike gets my cash.

      • The wrap around the back of the ankle was a separate pump wasn't it? I recall those one's having dual pumps on the side and tongue for that reason.

    • I recall back then other than the Reebok Pump, there's also the puma disc… and I got the latter.

  • How do these pumps stack up against MKBHD's own pair of shoes or the Nike Air Force Ones?

    • see my post above - they dont seem to work these days - I wouldn't buy pumps that dont work.

      • What do you mean by them not working? Are they fake?

        • that is how they feel. At least the ones I tried.

    Ugly as (profanity)

Thanks for sharing. Grabbed a pair and the Jurrasic Park shirts and Hoodie.

    • lol

  • I feel like modern cushioning and gel technologies make these pumps useless. Fun regardless.

    Ghastly 😳

Cheers OP grabbed a pair for nostalgia sake!! teenager of the 90's…dont plan on wearing them so not fussed about the pumps working or not

    • +1

Same, could never afford them as a teen. Now I finally own a pair of pumps lol. And it's great it's Shaq, as that's the period I wanted them

      • +2

I'm thinking of buying Air Jordan 6 (retro).

My dad didn't allow me to buy them at $200 when I was a teenager. I was upset at the time, but today, I know that's a good decision. Would probably have got rolled back in the hood too! lol

  • Got a pair for my son , a while back, he loves them. Pump is ok, but it's all about Shaq attaq !

I remember the Dee Brown ad for this shoe
    https://youtu.be/J99cQOe8EMs?feature=shared

  • Had a pair of these as a kid. Good to see that they still have the poo catcher soles.

  • arent shaq and iverson shoes like wearing bricks on your feet or have they changed recently? Very cool though

  • No shade on the deal, but on Reebok. Reebok's inability to provide a basic level of customer service and stock management is amazing. I don't often rip into companies. But, I always wanted a pair of pumps as a kid/teenage. Our family could never afford such an item. So I jump on these on sale and with my birthday coming up, and them being from the period I would of wanted them, I thought yeah I can afford them myself, why not treat myself. A few days go by and today I get a package, a jumper which was part of the order, a little weird, but hey sometimes they send things in separated deliveries. I check my email a little later and find this;
"We have just come across an issue whereby we have completely sold out of the Shaq Attaq Shoes Black/Bold Purple/Collegiate G, M 11 / W 12.5. We are terribly sorry for the lack of communication surrounding your order and can completely understand your disappointment. It appears an issue occurred when we tried to pick and pack your order at our warehouse! Our team is currently investigating to ensure this does not occur in the future."

Although, their website says they are still in stock (but without the extra 30% in my size). Not sure how that will stop the issue happening again.

    Piss poor effort.
