Lamb Loin Chops $18 Per Kilo (Was $28) @ Coles (Excluding VIC)

362

Coles is running a promotional offer for lamb loin chops at $18 per kilo. This is a very good price compared to other supermarkets and butcher shops.

Highly recommended for this weekend bbq.

Looks like the same price per kg for the smaller pack as the bulk. It's a shame the bulk isn't a bit cheaper than the smaller pack, I'd happily stock up.

Well farmers are shooting them and leaving them to rot. So they value lamb at a -ve$ kg.

I'm sure the farmers will give you some of those. Then you can spend a few months and lots of money fattening them up for sale, slaughtering, butchering, transporting, and sell the meat to us at a loss.
So we can save a few dollars. Thanks, mate.

  • How's it compare to lamb chops?

Pay $15 kg every day at my local Afghan butcher. Also lamb cutlets $23 kilo. Coles and Woolworths are a rip off and continue to not pass on savings to consumers (Meat costs are at an all time low).

I don’t care if it’s halal or not. It tastes good on my kettle

      • Sorry you got downvoted. People are always spouting about the terrible treatment of "meat" animals and how cruel industrial scale slaughter is - but halal is cool and seems to get a free pass for slitting the throat of live animals and letting them bleed out because… why?

      Supermarket

      Time saving

    • yeah i pay $10kg at auburn too - but the quality is rubbish ….its not all about the price if you cant eat it…

      • ….its not all about the price if you cant eat it…

You forget what website you're on, where price is everything to the majority.

        • i disagree - defeats the purpose of a bargain ,you forget that u need to use common sense as well, no point buying something cheap if its going to end up in the bin defeats the purpose of a bargain.

    Coles meat is terrible.

S.m.marketplace in western sydney has them for $9/kg for the next 2 days, and usually for $10/kg most weeks. Same as Pendle Hill Meat Market usually has them for $10/kg every few weeks.

I suggest people start shopping at their local warehouse meat seller if you have one. Their prices smash colesworth/aldi

    • What is S.m.marketplace? Where is it located?

    • yeah look pendle hill is cheap and s.m but at the end of the day you pay for what you get ….. dont think your going to get great quality with that pricing unfortunately..and yes ive been there and tried it.

To each their own, I haven't been to S.m.marketplace but have swapped from getting my meat at only colesworth to pendle hill meat market and really haven't noticed a difference, I usually just buy mince, chicken thighs/breast and pork belly. Did get some scotch fillet from them when it was on sale for like $16/kg and had no complaints at all from guests when I cooked. Have got the lamb loin chops a few times and thought they tasted fine but maybe im just tasting the price difference im saving.

The main reason behind my post was that you can save a bunch from switching away from the big 2 (3?)

  • If you have access, Costco's loin chops are delicious (thick style and well-trimmed), and from memory, $20 per kg. Yes, a large serve, but even as only a two-person household, we just plan out bbqs and curries with what we get in the pack :)

  • any ideas when this runs until?

    • I looked on a price ticket today and I'm pretty sure it is until 3/10/23

  • Is this price State specific? Or did the deal end yesterday? I'm near Melbourne, price showing as $28/kg, even for bulk

  • Coles has terrible meat, but the butchers near me keep ripping me off

  • why excluded vic ?

  • Looks like sale ended yesterday
