Far from being a computer whizz, but this seems to be decent price compared to other recent posts with similar spec.

Yes. 2 slots. Just get another single 8GB DDR4 stick.
Double the RAM and storage. That's pretty good spec-wise. No opinion regarding MSI laptops.
I was holding out for the Acer Nitro but this is pretty tempting.
The Nitro has the advantage of DDR5.
MSI GF63 is a terrible laptop and has notoriously bad build quality. Don't buy it.

Don't buy this laptop though, the GPU even the 4060 variant is limited to 75W, the CPU apparently runs like 100 degrees too on the "extreme fans" mode. If you think a 115W 4050 is "slow" in reviews, I can't imagine what a 75W variant is like. If you ever see the 4060 variant, definitely give it a miss.
laptop gpu 4xxx series uses power differerntly to 3xxx series, you cannot compare them on tdp/power
I'm not comparing 40 to 30 series. Re-read my comment. The 115W is the highest TDP for the 4050, this laptop restricts it to 75W. I'm comparing 115W 4050 to 75W 4050.

This has been sub $1K for quite awhile until CA jacked the price this morning
Specs are only passable for under $1K and for OzB, 50 class GPU laptops are only deals at $800-$900 due to the shortcuts with screen quality, cooling and general quality
this is one of Gigabyte repackage of Clevo chassis
they are usually good in cooling department
