I think a suspension system of some sorts is required at this price range.

    • It's definitely not. Run your tyres at lower PSI for a more comfy ride

        and higher power draw.

        • Negligible, source: experience

@jugsy: depends how much you let them down, source: experience.

Wait, why is this so cheap? I remember buying the gen 1 for $800 on a serious ebay special.

    • Gen 2 is a reduced model. Less km but also less weight and few other things

As a frequent scooter user, I believe that dual braking systems and dual shock absorbers are essential for riding safety. It is wise to spend a little more money on these features.

    • i'd really like to buy an equivalent of the rental scooters like the purple beam scooter that's got 120km range

      • I received an e-mail from one of those mobs (Beam or Neuron…can't recall) inviting me to purchase an ex-rental, so that is an option.

Dunno what sort of battery capacity is left in them.

Oh, that would be a big temptation for me. I wonder how much they’d be charging for them.

            • $599

The listed battery capacity on these is 551Wh, larger than the 367Wh of this deal
Supposed 60km range, you'd hope they would put in the healthier battery units and bin the spent ones but who knows (if they even refurbish them in this manner, or if they just strip off the branding)

    • agreed, but i wouldn't say it's only "a little more money" considering you need to spend upwards of 1k+, perhaps 1.5k to get these features.

  • lol SA still illegal

    • Same here in NSW.

      Maybe May 2024 —> https://indaily.com.au/news/2023/05/24/end-of-the-road-threa…

Old fart: “there are young people whizzing around up and down the street without helmets at speed amongst the tables … ban scooters"

Young whipper snapper: "there are old people sitting in chairs in the middle of the footpath frowing & complaining amongst transiting people… ban old people"

I really wish NSW would hurry up and make these legal for private use.

    • -4

Nah. The rest of us, the majority, don’t like them and don’t want them.

      • it's coming, like it or not. It's a billion dollar industry atm. if i had to guess the NSW equivalent of DOT is probably still finalising the details

      • Pretty sure they'd be a wonderful addition as they'd allow people to make longer commutes and thus increase accessibility to more opportunities.
