New Weber Q models are out so several stores are doing clearances on older models.
Sales on a few other models too (some models are ~$40 cheaper on Good Guys Commerical website) https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/weber/bbqs

Way better? it seems more or less the same but happy to be proven wrong.
Better heat control, bigger lid, bigger cooking plate, easier access to drip tray, integration with wireless temperature thermometer.
I agree, would be better. Yet $200 better? For me no. I'm happy with our standard one.
All depends how involved the BBQer wants to be. I just use it for the basic summer family sausage sizzle and meats etc.
Yet $200 better?
That is subjective…
I'd pay $200 more for those features for something that will last me at least 10 years… Only $20 extra per year…
Yep, I just bought the new range and posted a deal for 3% off the new range.
Spent a while researching it and figured the cheapest/best way is to purchase from Weber direct
- Probably easier warranty claim
- 3% off other sites (for 2800N model, some sites like GGC had discounts on 2000N and other models)

What do you reckon lads should I get this or a good condition Q2000 with the works off FB marketplace? Old bbq is a jumbuck that has seen better days.
remember the warranty is very good from weber and there is plenty they will sort out for you at no cost even outside of warranty
get the high lid version with built in temp gauge as these are better so Q2200 etc
this will be night & day better than the jumbuck
the new ones have an improved design and some nice features but in all honestly you can't go wrong with a weber Q and they are built well and last a very long time
I was messaging a few people on FB marketplace before.
Was going to get $450 (negotiated down from $550) for an older one that came with a stand + side tray + cover, but ended up.
Asked to send a video of a flame test, and looked fine but the burner had some yellow flames so I'd need to unclog those of grease.
If you're on a budget get the older model on FB marketplace (with a cover/stand) for around $400.
- on GGC new model 2000N is $441 which is not bad (https://www.cookoutnews.com/weber-releases-the-new-weber-q-g…)
- or an old model with a temperature dial for $394
Figured I'd have this for at least 10 years, so worth spending the $150 more getting the fanciest model, and just using a table for the stand. Also I went with the fancier model for the electric ignition since reviews say piezo is pretty bad.
the Family Q 3000's tend to go for around the $500 mark with all the kit, Q2000's around the $200-350 on average, plenty around 10+ years old in great condition, burner tubes & grill grates aren't that expensive to replace, ignition units weber will replace FOC regardless of age
the electronic ignition and extras for a few extra $$ are well worth the investment
Don't forget 2.25% cashback from ShopBack.
Why do people buy weber instead of a 5 burner bbq which some have the gas stove cooktop? due to space or quality?
my bbq just had 4/5 burners rusted and snapped. just wondering if i should get a weber.
many many years ago walked into Barbeques Galore and the sales person rubbed their hands as they upsold me a large 4 burner with side wok, heat stones, cover etc etc. it was good enough but with experience I realised all that was wrong with it and that for the money I could have got so much better. Most people a Weber Q2xxx's will be perfectly adequate if you want more a weber family Q these don't take up anywhere near the space especially if you don't need a cart. They're so easy to clean in comparison should be a reason alone. If you want something bigger that lasts then the Weber Genesis will be the way to go or Spirit but they aren't built quite as well. I'd say once you have a Q you will laugh at how you put up with a 5 burner & a 'stove top' you never used
The Q's use stuff all gas and are well built. Most people who buy a 4/5 burner don't need the space. My Q (middle size one) maxes out at cooking for about 6-7 people
Does Good Guys ever get the same models as weber online, i noticed the GG new models don't have the temp in the lid?
no
only weber sell the premium ones (high lid & temp) it's their sales strategy
Anyone know if there's gonna be NG versions of the new models?
would assume so, often they're delayed as they push LPG through AGA certification first and I've heard AGA can be slow / costly
I would have thought someone gas certified / outlet could easily convert the new ones it's usually just swapping the gas nozzle/injector for the correct size and a NG hose with regulator
[edited] they have some for sale but built ins only, be interesting to see if they are selling the conversion kits https://www.weber.com/AU/en/q-range/?prefn1=fuel&prefv1=Natu…
The new ones seem way better…
