Winix Zero+ Pro 5-Stage Air Purifier $325 Delivered @ Appliances Online

160

Winix Zero+ Pro 5 Stage Air Purifier AUS-1250AZPU

Pretty good price considering it’s usually around $400 ish

Looks like Winix is coming out with newer models soon that have wifi built in to them but at close to $500 I don’t see the value. This is still a decent price for all those hay fever allergy suffers and asthmatics out there and voted best by choice.

Edit

If your after the smaller 4 stage compact unit that can be purchased for around $199 from office works or $195 from online stores

Sad that’s not a Tesla power wall

  • I bought the Zero in the last deal but returned it because it made a slight whistling noise even in the quietest mode. Only really bothersome at night but it couldn't be used with an external power socket timer either.

We had the same issue and ended up running 2 x Ikea Fornuftig air purifiers in the same room off a timer.

    • The high pitch noise is the plasmawave. I just run it without it.

      • Nah it was still there even when I turned plasmawave off.

  • Tempting. Looking for / comparing Air Purifiers can be overwhelming, especially with so many affiliate review websites. I'm wondering if anyone else has feedback on this model?
    Thanks for noise feedback @umexcuseme

I have one of these. I don't have the noise issue mentioned above.

For a device that had an RRP of over $700, it is lacking some pretty basic stuff - like remembering your settings when turning it off.

I think sub $400 is a pretty good price. I paid just over that. It does far better than the Philips unit I paid $225 for.

      • Why don't you like your Philips? I have a 3000i and I think it does its job fine

        • Not so much I don't like it, but the Winix just does a better job. It's the 1000 model I have.

          • @photonbuddy: The 1000 is pretty small and an old model. The newer i series seem to be a lot better

            • @367: Yeah … I have the 1000i.

It's not rubbish, but you'd expect a unit retailing for 2 to 3 times as much to be better.

I bought the smaller one of these the other week. Bought it for the missus who swares she notices the difference it makes.
Personally it did nothing for me until the other night we woke up with smoke from the burns around Sydney. Turned it off sleep mode and in a couple of minutes the room was back to normal.
Noise on that is fine, but I sleep with a white noise machine and the fan so doesn't bother me anyway.

      • Personally it did nothing for me

It's the sort of thing that a lot of people won't get a benefit from most of the time, but there are those of us who do notice a difference.

Noise on that is fine, but I sleep with a white noise machine and the fan so doesn't bother me anyway.

I sleep with the radio tuned to static as well. I never run mine in sleep mode. Just leave it on medium with the front colour light turned off overnight.

$315 if purchased via Woolworth's Everyday Market (In case you don't qualify for Appliance's Online's $20 new customer voucher)

Thanks, got it from Woolworths. Used 4% off eWish cards which made it, $302.64. Also had 10x everyday rewards points, so this gave me 3161 in points which is worth anoth $15 dollars, bringing this to $287. Winner.

      • Well that's annoying, they cancelled the order, even though it's still for sale. I still want one and now I only have credit sigh.

        • And Officeworks price matches +5% off the Woolworths price. So came out to $299.49 and pickup from my nearest store likely Friday.

This or ax90 to help reduce dust around the house?

    • +1

Bought the AX90 because on paper it can do a larger area. Filters more pricey though. $425 at MyDeal

heads up: I got a call saying the date of arrival for this is early to mid october. I'd suggest either cancelling your order and getting it via OFW price match (against amazon au) if you need it faster (for $10 or so more at OFW).
