  • Also $314 Bunnings it looks like : https://www.bunnings.com.au/ausclimate-25l-medium-plus-dehum…

    And Big W : https://www.bigw.com.au/product/ausclimate-medium-25l-dehumi…

I have their 10L Dessicant model (because cold climate) and it works great.

This is what you want, desiccant

      • +1

Depends where you are. Cold climate definitely want desiccant based, but compressor based ones work better in warmer climate.

    • Thanks, ordered one from Big W online, was able to use my monthly 10% off every day rewards extra voucher and discounted big W gift cards to get it down to $271.23.

  • are these any good for laundries to remove moisture from the dryer?

    • yes, but, provided the room isn't too cold - you'd want the ambient temperature in the room to be like 16 degrees or higher while running the unit.

also but - your dryer is probably going to pump out more steam than the 4L tank will hold, unless you use the hose attachment.

I'd go for a fan and an open window well before trying one of these as a solution.
However, if you've got a warm, damp, laundry all the time, one of these is a good option.

I found somewhere that it says 390 watts input power. Does anyone know what it uses on average? I assume it'd cycle on /off? Just trying to toss up whether this would be better than just setting my split system a/c to dry mode.

    • +1

The function is much the same, the running cost will be similar.
Difference is the dehumidifier doesn't have a set temperature to aim for, so it'll work away provided the conditions are right.

If you're just trying to A/C your house, use the A/C you have already.
