I have a feeling wildlife will target those coloured swags and destroy them as soon as you leave the campground.

Well I had a dune swag in a kings bag, and a double one for that matter! I now have two double swags

  • $120 postage to NT

  • Still have my single swag from 25 years ago. These new ones from overseas are just designed better and with decent mattresses and poles. Very tempting

  • Thanks for posting OP.

Somehow I suddenly ended up buying a hideously ugly purple one.

    • +4

      safest way.
the drop bears avoid purple in my experience. have never seen one attack anyone anytime there was anything purple nearby.

      • -1

There is no scientific reference to purple colour for this urban legend drop bear https://researchonline.jcu.edu.au/51331/1/51331_Livingston%2…

        • +3

thanks for the link, but have you ever seen any reliable evidence of an attack when there was purple close by?

          • -3

@AdModnar: Dude, there is no such bear, colour is irrelevant. for sure, w./o reading the link info jumped on it. gees

            • +2

@[Deactivated]: Stop arguing with the science. @AdModnar is 100% correct…

              • -2

@UncleRico: I bend trolls just like you with the science. You are waste of time dude. I would ignore you dude forever. good luck.

                • +2

@[Deactivated]: You couldn’t bend a stick of liquorice, dude.

What kind of ignoramus would even attempt to deny the proven existence of dropbears, or @AdModnar’s considered explanation of the indisputable correlation between the colour purple and the absence of one of nature’s most mysterious predators?

Kids like you are the future of the human race. It’s about time you started taking that responsibility more seriously…

            • +3

@[Deactivated]: I for one am now greatly assured that my purple swag will protect me from teh dropbears.

              • @rumblytangara: Mine arrived today. I made a request to switch to blue, and they obliged.

If I disappear from the forum, that means the dropbears got me.

      • +1

LOL! Can't argue with that logic. Just bought one myself, to be safe…

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgNvKr010pc

    • that sucks, but you got a great deal.

    • +3

Nah you're good the purple ones have… swag

  • +1

$50 shipping for my regional town kills the deal for me! Good for urban free shipping like Sydney though!

    • -2

      Which regional town r u

  • +1

Bizarrely marked as out of stock. But multiple sizes and colours are still available.

    Great deal - thanks OP!

  • Just ordered a blue double king for $60 delivered.
    Great deal, cheers OP.

  • +2

Thanks OP! Grabbed myself a Purple double for when I'm sent to sleep in the backyard..

Also grabbed a shag rug in burgundy using your code and only paid $8 extra!

  • Such a shame postage is $40/$56. Would have bought a few otherwise.

  • +1

Just be aware of the weight too. If you're planning on carrying any of the swags or tents listed above, you're looking at lugging an additional 3.5-15kg along with you.

  • -3

I prefer a Hotel with a kingsize bed though.

  • Just purchased one of each for $95~ delivered. Cheers

  • +2

I was considering the double but just an FYI, the swag's width fits as the length in the bag. So a double will not fit easily in most sedan boots and have to be mounted to the roof rack for transportation. And as other has mentioned, it's close to 15kg's.

    • The double is essentially the footprint of a queen bed when set out

  • Swags… pay for what you get.

My daughter bought a double swag from a 4wd place in Dandenong South, 1/2 of it is more than a sieve - large puddles inside, not just a few spots of water. Its been seasoned 5+ times, and shes taken it back many times. NFLTG.

  • Damn refunded :(

    • Same. Sucks.

      • Sorry to hear it. What did each of you order?

        • Double swag normal colour. They definitely indicated there were units left when I ordered

          • @Splurge: Indeed. The double khaki even came back into stock multiple times over the past 24 hours when it appeared like stock was being replenished.

Fingers crossed that the purple Dropbear Repellant Edition doesn’t suffer the same fate…

    • When did you order?

    • you got lucky, design is absolute shit!

quality seems to be OK but it's a nightmare to get inside

  • Shopapp code for $10 off over $50 spend.

  • Refunded also. Very annoyed as i looked back 10 minutes after completing my order as i was tossing up getting a second one and they still had them on sale then.

  • +2

Still also selling them at double the price so they are not out of stock at all.

  • Ahh , won’t bother then .

  • Dropbear purple single and doubles still available at $48 and $60.

Woolies selling them for $60 King single

    • Sold & shipped by Sello

Same source though as the original deal, so probably the same stock issues.

  • +2

Got an email asking if it's okay to change the Purple double to a grey and the King Single to a purple as they were out of stock.

  • +2

Got mine today and have set it up and started to season it. Seems good for the price.

    • How does the mattress feel?

      • +1

Actually pretty good. I slept in the swag last night in the backyard. I couldn't feel the ground and wasn't sore.

    • any pictures of your setup? I am confused with the poles supplied. Thank you

      • +1

I was confused as well lol. I can't get pics right now but the longest pole goes at the wider end. Slide through the sleeve and put the little key things into each end of the pole.

There are 2 poles left after that. One has sealed ends. The sealed end one goes in the centre (same hooped direction as other pole) There are 2 pockets inside the swag for that to go in.

The last pole goes in the narrower end.

        Hope this helps somewhat

    • Needing some advice - how would you season this? Thank you!

  • Recently bought the Mountview swag but am perplex with putting it up. Given 3 poles - short, medium and long
The short and medium are used on the front and rear of the swag but cannot seem to figure out where the long one goes.
    Anyone with any ideas?

      • Bought the double swag. I thought it was the center spine too but there are no eyelets on the canvas to take it.
Would be great to see other member's setup.

          • @xwx: All 3 poles are identical in diameter but different lengths. The long and short ones have holes but the medium one has covers tied to the elastic string on both ends.

        • +2

The pole with the sealed ends goes into the centre section, where there are two PU pockets to hold the ends in place.

  • +1

Got double, just put it up… what a terrible design.
Putting this up wasn't an issue however to get in and out… forget about it…

also not sure how this will go under the rain, middle bit is not great and you are likely to get paddle.

very disappointing as quality seems to be ok

    • Thanks so much for sharing your experience, sorry to hear the design is subpar.

Getting worried that I'll see issues when I test my king single out in a few weeks…

    • +1

I've got a Single, and I'm impressed with the materials, and am less impressed with how easy it is to get in or out of. In the rain, getting in and out will be a total nightmare.

But I kind of expected this from a swag- I have never had one before but thought they were basically bedrolls for the back of a ute.

      The mattress is surprisingly comfortable.

I'm used to backpacking tents which have design considerations in the exact opposite direction.

      • used few kings and dune swags… much better design.

Let's just say, I will consider peeing in my bed if I have to go at night. job St too avoid geting out from this.
