Awesome find. 15w MagSafe with kickstand so you can use the standby mode coming next week!!

  • Good find. Thanks!

  • These wireless chargers are all too slow.

    • +24

Almost like transferring energy is harder through a wireless connection than a wired one.

      • +4

I’d always end up losing my patience and plug in a $1 cable to charge my phones much faster than these gimmick endless wireless slowass charger.

      • Just have 50w wireless easy.

      • Almost like it's only about 50% efficient and

wastes so much electricity that its wide adoption could mean dozens of new power plants will need to be built across the globe

      Perfectly fine for overnight charging.

      • -1

More like a slow cooker making a overnight yummy chicken soup.

        • Also works perfectly overnight. So you agree then?

  • Hows it go with a rugged case?

    • +2

Your case needs to be magsafe compatible.

      • Not necessarily. I'm using a Cygnet magsafe wireless charger with a non-MagSafe case and it charges fine.

        • +2

Two factors - charging and magnetic hold.

Your case is thin, so the charging prob works fine and even the magnetic hold may be acceptable. A rugged case is a whole 'nother story

Nice one will try pricematch Jb

    • Did you manage to price match?

The way they show the setup feel like might as well plug in a wire, much faster.

But can definitely see the value when you have both USB-C and Lightning devices, such as iPhone 15 and EarPods.

    • That is true, much better to have wire than wireless if the circumstance allows both options.

    • The use case for MagSafe is for households like mine where a certain spouse is a F.R.O.G (effing rough on gear) and destroys both cables and charging ports because she lives on her phone while in bed and yanks on the cable, which she also somehow tangles into a rats nest.

With MagSafe, the charging port is saved from her constant abuse and when she yanks on the charging cable, the magnetic puck just disengages. She successfully destroyed about 5 USB-C cables before I switched over to iPhone… and one of the deciding factors was MagSafe

  • Thanks 🙏

Never heard of this Boaraino brand, it might be alright based on the reviews. I think the Belkin is better because it's Made for MagSafe-certified.

    • Only certified products get 15W, so currently it’s limited to OEM Apple, belkin (not all products) and I think some other brand sold in Apple stores.

    • pretty sure this isn't fast charging for that price.

  • If you need a portable charger, why not just plug in a cable?

    • I am totally in agreement with you. I love MagSafe and have a few stands in the house.

But when I saw this product, I don’t know what to make of it. That’s why it is on sale May be.

If you were to use it as portable charger, might as well plug it in and make it charge faster. Not to mention wireless charging actually use up more power because the way energy is being transferred.

    • I'm guessing the kickstand is meant to be a big selling point. Good for portable Netflix watching, and to turn the phone into a nightstand clock at a hotel or at home

  • Combine with this deal if you need a USB-C charger: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/799695

I think this wireless charge is limited to 15W regardless, so probably don't need a wall plug this powerful.

      • Yes but if you're travelling it could be handy, and is cheap. Might be useful to someone.

  • I have one of these on my desk at work, super convenient if you are on and off the phone all day. Hard upvote at this price.

Has anyone tried this with non-Apple products? What is it like with Samsung devices?

    • +2

From what I understand, these wireless chargers are essentially compliant with the Qi wireless charging protocol (but with the added benefit of automatically aligning to the optimal position using the Magsafe ring/magnets). It should be compatible with non-Apple phones that do have wireless charging capabilities.

However it is possible that your phone may only charge at 5W/7.5W/10W depending on what modes your phone is compatible with. Also this wireless charger outputs max 15W via wireless charging, but it needs to be plugged into at least a 20W PD charger to achieve this.
"Requires 20W or higher USB-C® power adapter to charge up to 15W" (source: https://www.belkin.com/au/support-article/?articleNum=318875)

I've ordered it and will test it with the Anker 323 charger (from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/798089). I've got a S23+ coming soon which I will pair with a magsafe compatible case, and I will test it out to see it all works well together.

  • Is this recommended for the new iPhone 15?

    • MagSafe specifications haven’t changed with iPhone 15. This will be fine.

  • Black OOS. Only white available for full price which is not worth it

  • I think this is expired. Showing as $65.70 for me.

  • Back in stock get them while they are hot!

    • How to get the price in title? Do I need a code?

    2. Broken after one month.

    Not sure if worth getting
