A group of 10 adults and 6kids (age 5-10yrs) are traveling around Hobart and Launceston.
We are arriving on 23Dec 7pm (Hobart airport) and return 29Dec 5pm (Hobart airport).
We need to hire combination of cars (mostly 7,5 seaters).
Which car hiring company do you recommend and do they have any vouchers/discounts currently?
Any additional tips for us during driving or so will be appreciated.

With such specific requirements during the peak Christmas holidays I don't think you can afford to be picky or to shop around. A quick search shows only Budget and Avis having 8 seat Kia Carnivals during that time at around $300 per day before discounts.
And OP needs to think about the luggages of group as well.
Peak visitor season in Tassie; I don't think you will get any discounts.
I would try an aggregator such as VroomVroomVroom to see what is available and take whatever you can get.
Agree I used discovercars good a good deal but had booked in May. Try your luck with Sixt and/or discovercars
East Coast on special gets close to Bargain; they're off-site but may be your only option for that timeframe. Per @GS57, the Sydney Hobart race means you need to book two 8-seaters right now @$1,440 with East Coast - and pack lightly.
