      updated PLUSAUGSNS

  • Thanks just realised my 1 year boost ends in November 2023. It was 140gb. But checking the app, i have only used 21gb out of 140gb (almoat 10 months so average 2gb/m)
Need to downgrade the plan for the next year.

    They need to add eSIM

  • Has anyone done the put existing boost number to a new sim process recently? Wanting to know if it still works.

I spoke with Boost customer support and told them I thought I'd brought a recharge card and the guy said oh ok no problem then activated it for me over the phone….too easy bro

This is good, i will use this excuse for future instead of being honest

I just did couple minutes ago. It still works, however, the call rep is really rude and judgmental. So the story is I tried to use the chat but they said since my mob num is with Boost so I had to call them to verify. I theb called Boost using my mob number and said that I would like to move to the new sim, they asked why. I said because I got it from promotion. They immediately somehow got triggered, you can really tell from the voice, they said the system now doesn’t allow them to do it, policy blah blah doesn’t allow them to do it, then I slowly and calmly explained that the chat rep asked me to do it so please help me out. Somehow the lady changed her mind and did it for me but she wouldn’t forget to remind me that if i did move the sim to promo sim again I will get banned 🫤

      • oh no that's bad luck bro you must have got someone who was having a bad day. The guy I had was said it was an easy made mistake on my behalf and was really nice about it and and finished saying it was a pleasure to help me out

        • Its over… I tried it yesterday, online refused citing "security reasons", their system dont allow them to move the boost number and for me to call them up. Called them and they said they dont allow it now because of people not buying recharge. So having to port out and port back in this time.

Next year going to check out woolies. Its annoying they keep going up with amount of data and cost but I don't even use 80GB of data that is included in my previous pre-paid plans. For the last 2 years I always had at least 40GB of data left that I don't use…

          • @yotis: Like I said call them and talk to them on the phone nicely …..it's too easy for them to say no online

Bye bye Boost, moving to Coles, Amaysim and Woolies for my household :)

    • +1

      Any reason in particular?

the same plan goes from $200 to $230 per year
(with normal discount, its $15x to $18x)

Woolies $170 plan gets you 10% off per month.
Even if buying $50 per month, its a $60 saving.
And its part of telstra network.

Coles and Amaysim are using Optus network.
And they do $120 a year.

Its a huge difference to push customers out from Boost now.

Woolworths is definitely cheaper, but the part of Telstra network Woolworths uses is very different to the full Telstra network that Boost uses when you compare the land area of each if you ever need to use it outside metro areas.

      • Yes, don't get me wrong,
I have been with Boost for around 4 years already with my family.
I am just saying if coverage really matter to you, you may have less price sensitive to push you away from Boost.
(i.e.: Rural area instead of metropolitan area)

If for a household like me, with my partner and kids, living in the city area, you would be likely reconsider.
My plan is having me or my wife to be with Boost, while the other get woolies for groceries.
For the kids, they are not paying, Optus will work for them anyway.
When sth important, do hotspot while not at home.

Living semi-rural and tried other sims, Boost has been my go-to for a few years now .. just over $15/month for plenty of data, international calls to speak to the old school relatives overseas, and the reassurance of good reception … no brainer for me.

    • I tried going to woolworths. For some reason it declined all my cards (both savings and credit cards). I tried 4 cards.

In the end I went to amaysim but coverage isn't quite as good. Ymmv

  • OOS now?
