I wish small devices like this had user replacable batteries.

I just purchased this sale because my existing Fitbit Sense battery only lasts a day now. 3 years ago it lasted a whole week

PS how do you remove an ozbargain "associated with" link? I quit Ausdroid a few months ago but it's still linked to my ozbargain account

Your association with Ausdroid has been removed. For future reference, you can use the TWAM Forums to request your association be removed.

      • Thanks Richard :)

It would be good if these devices still got updates, but Fitbit just abandons previous generation devices as soon as the new one comes out.

  • The productreview for this watch is pretty bad. 1.5 / 5 stars based on 39 reviews.

I just bought one. I had one and loved it but it died a few months back.

After much deliberation, I replaced it a couple weeks ago with the Sense 2, assuming it would be a good upgrade. But the Sense 2 is, in many ways, a downgrade - it doesn't have Google Assistant (astonishing in a phone from a Google owned company) and only supports Alexa. This broke a lot of my workflows (e.g., I regularly used "add to calendar" as a voice shortcut - works with Alexa but you can't add into your Google Calendar, only your Alexa one.

Also the notifications were garbage on the Sense 2. I wrote a whine about this on the Fitbit forums with more detail (https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Sense-2/Is-Sense-2-a-downgra… if anyone cares).

I returned the Sense 2 after 24 hours because I couldn't stand it.

Conversely, I really liked my [original] Sense. Had some minor issues with the heart tracker failing at some extremes but this is relatively common with most of these (more budget-end) devices. I was stoked when I saw this deal as I really miss having a smartwatch.

Not counting the Sense 2, this will be the fourth Fitbit I've bought - two of the previous ones being mine & having died & been refunded under warranty (Ionic was the first one, which was recalled). I've bought two of the band ones for my partner, one of which broke structurally when she used an off-brand band, and her replacement died a couple weeks ago after 11 months (free replacement under warranty).

I have LOW expectations for this device but for $200 I'm hoping I'll get a year or two out of it then I'll assume it'll fail and I can get another refund. I want to jump ship to Apple but don't want to do it right now.

    • Yeah, gave one to my dad for Christmas and it barely lasted 6 weeks before the battery drained insanely quickly (sub 2 hours according to him). Ended up having issues with the screen and replacing it through Fitbit but ended up getting a Amazfit GTR 4

      • How's the Amazfit working out? Any issues?

Specs and price suit my needs, but hadn't even heard of the brand until today.

My experience with this has been pretty good. I bought it when it originally came out and still going strong. I have bought so many watches ( galaxy watch / pixel watch / Fenix 7x / tic watch ) after this, but still come back to this.

It has been working flawlessly since the day i bought it. My only issue with this watch is that I have to charge it everyday, does not last 2 full days. i put it on charge while I go for shower and it keeps on going all day. The fitbit interface is better than any others I have used.

I may think of buying another one as a spare, in case my watch dies.

  • Drat! Jumped on the Versa 3 last month.

  • lol one thing I learned is dont just jump on it…reviews are pretty bad.

  • I bought this for $289 on amazon in jan 2022, for reference. The RRP seems pretty steep. I had to buy a replacement wrist band due to a terrible rash, and I've had to replace the charger twice.

Yeah Fitbit chargers are rubbish. I usually buy generic replacements every year or so

      • Same with the bands. There are so many out there.

When is the charge 6 coming out? At this rate the Pixel watch 2 will be the go-to Android fitness device in a month or two.

  • Food for thought I bought a versa 3 from Amazon and returned it twice under warranty before eventually obtaining a refund. Good UI but that's the only positive I can say is steer clear.

  • I’m honestly amazed Google hasn’t put Fitbit out of their misery.

    • they bought the company to make more money

    • +1

I wouldn't be surprised if they merged Fitbit into their Pixel Watch Range.

Or knowing Google's Track record, cancel the whole project…

  • fitbit versa 3 is $199 at jb, which is better? I know versa 3 is newer and sense 1 is like 3 years old.

    • Sense is better than Versa 3. They came out at the same time but Sense has better sensors, otherwise identical.

  • Inherited my wife's Charge 3, the screen of which quite quickly degenerated to black. Attempts to contact Fitbit were met with a contemptuous silence. Not for me thanks, at any price.

    • Same! Mine is almost impossible to read apart from in pitch black darkness! Looking for a replacement…also the screen is useless for swimming as it doesn't register screen presses properly when hands are wet.

  • Was about to make a purchase for me wife… luckily I checked OzBargain comments first.

Any way of checking which stores in Sydney have it. Have tried various postcodes but can't seem to find any.

  • Any deals on the Apple Watch SE 40mm? The lowest I can find is $379 @ OW.

  • After having great Fitbit watches with surge and ionic, I gave up on this watch after months of the worst synchronisation design as the phone had to be always on display and the app couldn’t be in the background. After going back and forth with tech support, I gave up on their lack of help, it made me switch to Apple Watch. Haven’t looked back.
Put the $197 towards something better. Apologies to the OP

  • Anyone have a good alternative? My Charge 3 is on its last legs…
