Have been waiting for this to come down for a while, had been floating around the $690 mark. Was after it due to the 65W PD USB C and also the fact it had a built in KVM switch.

@Muzeeb when do we get the next exclusive muzeeb x ozbargain x Dell deal mate?
Hows the mwave internship?
I should mention that if you have any dell codes, comes down further. I had a discount code deal through work so got it for $530
Does the usb-c port on this thing act as an input or output display port?
you know the specs are right there if you click on the link right???
- USB Type-C upstream port (Alternate mode with DisplayPort 1.4, Power Delivery up to 65 W)
Yes I read that. Just the 'upstream' wording I found confusing.

For a basic wfh monitor.. Definitely recommend.
Works as advertised. 😊
Have it hooked up to my surface via usb c and has been great to reduce the clutter on the desk.I'll say, the built-in speakers aren't good. Lol.. Just muffled.
Bought it last year for a smidgen under $600. Quick delivery by Dell. Two days.Your idea of a basic wfh monitor and mine are very different
Do tell…
This or S3422DWG?
Curious about this too
I wanted a built in KVM switch which that didn't have, and also USB - C PD
Plus for the VA panel
not too bad, but i just feel the 1440p needs to be at least 1600 for some reason.
That would be a 38" monitor then.
I have a Dell 34" 1440P at work, and an LG 38" 1600P at home. Yes I prefer the 38", but there is a good deal price difference. As far as Dell goes, the 38" starts in the UltraSharp model.
It's a shame there's no intermediary between 1440p and 2160p though for 34" screens. I don't want a physically larger screen just something with a sharper picture that doesn't cost more than buying two 27" 4K monitors.
38" 1600p is a weird size to me, it's not like 30.5" screens were ever much of a thing yet they decided to make a widescreen version of it. But it's no sharper than 34" 1440p.
It's always going to cost more than 2 separates, just because it's far cheaper to produce the smaller panels, despite the extra expense of two power supplies, two lots of inputs etc….The panel is the greater cost.
As I have my LG connected to a Mac, I don't want it sharper, unless it was double the PPI. Mac have odd scaling issues, they are designed around "retina" displays of about 220 PPI. To best deal with this it's better to be half of that, and allow for a double scaling to occur, so 110 PPI is spot on.
At work (Windows) am fine with 110 PPI, and compared to the 4K 27" it's overall nicer due to sizing of text etc…
Can this be mounted
I would suggest unplugging before attempting this.
Are. you addressing a certain religious group?
Yes, i had this mounted to a vesa arm mount.
Cheers
Not 4K?
Care to make a list of all 4K 34" Ultra Wide monitors?
Not being smart, I'm just unsure whether this is 4K, as I'm not very tech saavy
It's referred to as WQHD (3440 x 1440). You can't do 4K in ultra wides.
It's noticeably better than FHD (1080P) but without the performance requirements of 4K.
What 4K? This is a 21:9 ultra-wide aspect monitor, not the usual 16:9 wide aspect monitor.
So would this be FHD (Full High Definition)?
This monitor is higher than FHD. It's right between FHD and 4k, being 1440p (WQHD) but wider.
It's a very good resolution for this size display for most things.Click the "go to deal" link and read the first sentence of the product description.
FYI: This monitor does not work with MacBook Pro if you are planning to use USB C to connect to the monitor. I spent hours with Dell support to get it work with my Macbook pro but in vain. It neither connected to my windows laptop whilst troubleshooting. Found USB C on the monitor was faulty(out of box), so got replaced under warranty. The Dell technician who replaced the faulty part was not able to connect the monitor to my Macbook Pro.
Upon calling Apple support, I was told the Dell monitors won’t connect as DELL does not have compatible display port driver, which was confirmed by DELL support. The only option left was to buy an USB C to HDMI converter to work with this monitor. BTW, using HDMI comes with its own issues, the monitor display flickers randomly. Sometimes, it flickers 5 to 10 secs every 20mins or sometimes every couple of hours.
BTW the monitor has not issues connecting to windows system as I tested with my windows setup. I couldn’t return the unit back to Dell as it is not faulty. After 8 weeks of owning the monitor, DELL confirmed that they have Mac USB C display port driver in the pipe line but couldn’t confirm ETA, so I had no option but to sell this unit. I bought Samusng 34inch Ultra-wide Curved Monitor which worked right out of box without any hassle.
I hope my experience helps if any Ozbargainer is planning to buy this monitor to connect your Mac’s.
This monitor does not work with MacBook Pro
You need to be specific as to which one, I am guessing you have an M1 spec, which has all sorts of monitor compatibility issues.
Sorry I forgot to mention its a Macbook Pro M2 (13 inch). My 2015 Macbook pro works flawlessly as it does have HDMI on it.
Interesting, M2 was supposed to fix many of the monitor issues that M1 had.
I will check how my M2 Studio goes via USB-C to my Dell S2722QC as I have only connected it via HDMI thus far. It is connected to an LG 38WN95C-W via Thunderbolt and working as it should.
I wish Apple weren't such bitches about how they work with non Apple monitors, there is so much that they do wrong about it.
Block-quote Upon calling Apple support, I was told the Dell monitors won’t connect as DELL does not have compatible display port driver, which was confirmed by DELL support.
Rubbish. I have a MacBook and it works fine with various different models of Dell monitor.
wait maybe they re trying to use HDMI adapters or something?
I have a MBP and this monitor has worked flawlessly for almost 2 years.
That is great!
@vespa is your Macbook Pro CPU an Apple Silicon (M1/M2 [Pro|Max|Ultra]) CPU or an Intel CPU? And you're connecting via USB-C presumably?
I'm asking because I have an M1 and am tempted by this monitor.
I have received mine today. Works great with MBP M1. USB-c connectivity.
Thanks for that.
Was literally just about to buy it and i have an M2 Macbook ProI had this issue with one of my Mac on one of my Dell monitors (sorry too many Macs and Dells to remember the combo) and it turned out to be a DisplayPort setting in the monitor. May not be the case for you but just thought I'd mention.
I too have an M1 Macbook and a Dell S2722QC (and a Dell P2721Q, and with my previous employer I bought a bunch of Dell S2721QS) and:
- The M1 Macbook happily connected to the S2722QC and P2721Q via USB-C
- BUT I did have issues connecting to the S2721QS machines via DisplayPort and HDMI (major flickering issues that sound like what you describe)
- I eventually found a cheap HDMI adapter that worked well (after trying and returning many other adapters and cables that exhibited the issue). This is the adapter that worked, currently $18.86 at Amazon.
- I never quite understood the underlying issue, but it had something to do with "DisplayPort Mode" which apparently is used by many adapters, cables and hubs, including HDMI ones (!).
So:
- All the Dell monitors I've tried will connect with a Macbook M1 (I don't know about this model S3423DWC , but other Dell monitors most certainly will), and I'd be very surprised if the same doesn't apply to other Apple Silicon CPU Macbooks
- But there are issues with some combinations of ports, adapters, and cables
- All Apple Silicon computers have other limitations e.g. you cannot Daisy-chain multiple USB-C monitors
- The M1, being a first-generation chip, is even more limited than its successors in that it won't support more than 1 external monitor AT ALL (unless you use a DisplayLink Hub, which is what I do in the office where I'm using non-Dell monitors, and it's FAR from ideal)
- See this link to find out how many monitors other Apple-Silicon Macbooks support at different resolutions
I own this monitor.
Works with my MacBook Pro 15” 2019 (Intel)
Does not work with my MacBook Pro 15” 2017 (Intel)This is via USB C connection
I'm just reporting in that I purchased this monitor (S3423DWC) and it connects to my Macbook Pro 16" M2 Max perfectly with USB-C. I've only tested it so far with the USB-C port on the right side of the laptop, but 65W USB PD charging and Adaptive Sync are both fully working too (though I'm currently running it fixed at 100Hz due to VA flickering with variable refresh rate).
I'd say if you're having issues the monitor itself is faulty and to push for a replacement/return. These things should be plug and play per the USB standards.
Also reporting in to say that I've confirmed it also works with a Macbook Pro 16" M1 Pro, currently plugged in to the top port on the left side. All features - Adaptive Sync and USB PD and so on - working perfectly,
@khelI: Thanks for that. The USB C on the monitor was faulty on arrival. It did not work on my MacBook Pro M2 nor on my windows laptop. I had to wait around 10days for the DELL technician to replace them.
Despite replacing the faulty part, the monitor failed to connect to my MacBook Pro M2. I raised the ticket for the monitor to be replaced.Dell denied replacement as they quoted it works with windows(which is true, as I tested it out myself with my windows laptop) and the problem is at Macbook Pro end. By now I had already spent 5 to 6 weeks putting up with DELL and I need the monitor whilst wfh, so I sold it on FB and bought Samsung monitor.@SteveD: I have no idea what I'm talking about, but if I had to take a guess it would be that the replacement was not good, and the Mac has tighter tolerances to allow the USB-C connection to work.
Dell CS were definitely scamming. I would have pushed for complete replacement.
@khell: I think you are right, I should have taken it all the way for the monitor to be replaced under warranty. I had enough dealing with their customer service for weeks without any resolution, so gave up, my bad.
May I know which Samsung monitor you ended up with, looking for model number. Thanks a lot.
@msaadie: Sorry for the late reply,I was away. I bought Samsung Odyssey G55T 34" Curved UWQHD from PLE computers. I paid around $550.
So i ended up buying this monitor and I can confirm that it DOES work with a M2 Macbook pro with USB C
@Colt75: Good to hear it works, pity I had lot of issues with this monitor.
Could go with these deals instead if the one OP posted doesn't fit your fancy:
Kogan 34" Curved Ultrawide WQHD 100Hz Freesync Monitor (3440 x 1440)
$445
or
Kogan 34" Curved WQHD 165Hz Ultrawide Freesync USB-C Gaming Monitor (3440 x 1440)
$529( free kogan first membership trial ) cancel after making the order.
Have had clients use these monitors for awhile no issues.
Kogan..
Yep, I would rather set my ass on fire than buy from Kogan, especially a Kogan product.
It's not all bad, just depends how much you pay for it. Back in 2018 I bought the Kogan KAMN341FQULA for around $550 which at the time was incredible value for a curved 3440x1440 100hz vesa monitor.
Still running fine to this day.
@Noodles93: Ruslan Kogan is a dodgy POS. How many times have Kogan done shifty crap with pricing, look at the times ACCC has been up their ass.
Screw him and screw them.@snuke: Fair enough
Why buy kogan to save 100 bux lel
What monitor would be best for the MacBook Pro M2 16 inch? I like the idea of something around this price point of less than $1000 wide for documents. I read someone’s comment on this page about the dell not being compatible.
Just bought this one from the Amazon sale someone posted, but really just took a punt.
https://www.samsung.com/us/business/computing/monitors/curve…
FWIW, I had the Dell in this post but recently replaced it sith the LS34A650UXEXXY Samsung, which is a few years newer than the Samsung you linked to. There were not many reviews at all on the one I bought, but I took a punt. After a few days of use, I have returned the Samsung and re-ordered the Dell. For whatever reason, the Samsung colours look way off, despite it being HDR10, and the refresh rate would not go above 60hz no matter what I did. The curve didn't bother me at all (I actually liked it), but the text sharpness looked all over the place. I'm not sure if there was something wrong with my screen, but by contrast to the dell, it was a completely different league.
Thanks! I’ll check that out.
Just my personal experience owning Dell 4K 60hz VA and Dell 1440p 165hz IPS. VA has much better black, but IPS is much smoother with no black ghosts image when the picture is moving fast. I like the PPI of these monitors for gaming though, somewhere between 32inch 4K and 32inch 1440p.
I like how there’s no resolution info, it’s like that’s not important or anything
I like how there is a simple link that takes you through to all the information you could need
Clicking is hard.I like how ppl just assume I’m not lazy
How does it compare to this one?
https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/phillips-3…Flat vs curved, and the Philips doesn't have KVM built in by the looks of it.
Anyone know if SB cashback valid with this code? I see SB has 12% CB later today… I know to be sure it has to be listed code….
Anyone can recommend a ethernet adaptor? Wifi playing up lately on the laptop. Thanks in advance.
Meh!
