    I loved it, it's one of only 8 games I've got the Platinum trophy on, as well as all the trophies for the Mr. X Nightmare expansion and have bought both physical and digital copies on the Nintendo Switch. The soundtrack is amazing, character selection is broad including all the characters from SoR, SoR2, and SoR3. To me it's easily one of the best titles in the genre.

      Absolutely agree gameplay wise. I think the story and main antagonists could have been better though. The final boss battle was a letdown for me.

    Streets of Rage 4 is also on sale @ Microsoft Xbox store until Sept 5 for a similar price to PS4 ($18.72)

    I think it is
    I would say if you're already a fan of the series or the genre of game you may want to get it right off the bat.
    If you're going in cold, maybe see if you like the base game first and play it to see if you want more, it goes on sale periodically so you could always add it to your wish list for later.
    The expansion adds a few extra characters, not that the base game is short of any, and a bunch more challenges for players who want that sort of thing. There's no extra story content.

  A definite must-buy for anyone who's a fan of the brawler/beatemup genre. I've purchased this game many times in digital and physical forms across multiple platforms.

  Played this local coop with 3 friends and honestly we all got a bit bored.

    It will be boring if you've set the difficulty too low. I've not played 4 player before but you may need to increase the difficulty a lot more than you would with one player.

    Much like a 1v1 fighting game, it's easy to learn but hard to master. The fun is in getting better at it each time you play and trying to beat the game at each difficulty level.

    It's annoying that you have to unlock each higher difficulty level after you've completed the next highest though.

  Absolutely killer soundtrack on an amazing beat-em-up game! This game is so good either in solo or multiplayer in my experience that I platinum trophied it with joy!

  Linking & chaining multi combos is surprisingly fun twist to the gameplay

  The hand drawn graphics were a little weird initially (as a fan of SOR 1, 2 & 3) but it quickly grew on me.

  The DLC is also good and worth it to me. It adds a good challenge albeit a little thrown off that it wasn’t a significant story driven.
