Go to the Boost app
- Click the 3 dots in the top right
- Manage your Messagebank
- Switch off Messagebank and hit submit
After Messagebank is off
SMS "DCF OFF" to 144
DCF = default call forwarding. With this off the phone will ring out after about 60 seconds and there will be no SMS notification.
The SMS command doesn't work unless you've already turned off Messagebank as per the first steps
Yeah, I tried it and that apparently gets rid of "You missed a call, but the caller didn't leave a message.", but switches on the "Message2Text" thing. This is from Boost customer service:
I'd like my callers not to be able to leave me any message and I don't want to be notified about any missed calls. Is that possible?
I'm afraid turning off both features will not going to be possible since that this is included on our service, we can either use a messagebank or a message2text. I do apologise about this.
So are you saying you don't get any text messages when you don't pick up the phone?
Correct. If you've already turned off Messagebank and have it on Message2Text then all you need to do is send the "DCF OFF" SMS to 144 as above to disable Message2Text
Without either Messagebank or Message2Text there's no more text messages for missed call notifications.
Other commands that work to 144:
DCF ON - to reactivate default call forwarding (Message2Text)
DCF STATUS - To check the status
@Commonwealth Pig: Seems it worked! Thank you.
Well, that's one poor but apolegetic customer service at Boost.
@Commonwealth Pig: Just looking at this now - what is the best setup?
I don't really see it as an issue if there is a temporary sms saying i've missed a call but may as well turn it off.
I don't bother with setting up a voicemail recording, some people leave a message some dont. Doesn't seem to be a charge for voicemail retreival.
So can you get it to do a voice to text with the message they leave instead of saying you have a voicemail?
I just turned off messagebank so now have - DCF to Message2TXT is enabled.hmm
Lot of spam calls anyway these days so better it goes to voicemail then ring out for 60s I would have thought? If they don't leave a message then block and report spam.

How to cancel MessageBank
Dial #002# from your Boost mobile and press Call/SendYour mobile phone will display a message confirming MessageBank has been cancelled.
When MessageBank® is cancelled, Message2Text will automatically be enabled. Message2text converts a 10 second voice message directly to a text message, without you having to dial 101.
Does BOOST have eSIM?
No.
Shopback has $35 Prepaid SIM with $15.00 cashback. Any word on stacking with BOOST10 coupon for $5 cashback profit?
@gotyourback Can you confirm?
Wouldn't this be a better deal -
Boost Mobile $45 Prepaid SIM for $17 + $17 Cashback @ Cashrewards
Depends on how much you've got left after you've brought your Aldi 2 Minutes Noodles. I've only got enough for this SIM. Man's gotta eat.
A man has an appetite.
Not if you hate cashrewards
BOOST10 is not listed in Shopback / Cashrewards
so it meaning not able stack with cashback?
Need a combined Cashback deal to make this worthwhile ;)
Ordered through CR and it tracked $10. Thanks OP.
Just because it tracks doesn’t mean it will convert
That's right, it needs to arrive & be activated within 30 days
So it will get declined? 😞
No. If you activate the SIM within 30 days of your Order date, it won't decline.
@Nelumbo: Thanks for sharing. I'll definitely activate in the given time frame.
Could be wrong but from what I see at CashRewards currently $13.20 cashback, so after using code and cashback $3.20 profit.
Thanks, did not see that. Was activating two new (one for me and one for family) Boost sims and
searching Boost deals ahead for next lot. I don't check Ozbargain every day hourly/six hourly let alone daily,
but sometimes more than others.
anyone know if tourists can buy these? or are they valid only for locals with residential address? can they use the hotel address?
What I learned only after joining Boost and it's annoying AF - there's no way to switch notifications about missed calls at Boost. There's always a text message if you missed a call, coming from the number that tried to call you.
Missed a call from "Mum"? You'll get a text message from Mum saying:
Depending on your configuration, if Mum decides to leave a message, you may receive a clumsy transcription of it, also as a text from the Mum number, signed as "Message2Text". It's all on the top of your phone's missed call notifications.
There's no way to filter those messages out, because Boost pretends to be the caller (the Mum) when sending those out.
Might be not your pet peeve, but surely I have one.
