Firstly, $180 for a midrange 6th gen with 8gb of ram and a ssd is great value if you super budget! (and the device is in workable condition) and I'd recommend them to those it's aimed at.

However, 70% battery life is essentially dead. Once a battery gets to about 70%, life drops off incredibly quickly. It's not a huge problem, but it will be mostly desk bound soon, or swap out for a new battery.

Aside from the battery, the low-res screen is a problem for study or work use. You'll be scrolling up and down ferociously.
      Ok for basic media consumption.

      • Very true. The $198 laptop with the larger screen is a more productive option. But hey, choice is never a bad thing, if you do need super portable for any reason.

  • upgrade RAM/
    the fujitsu cannot, right?

    • Instead of worrying about upgrading RAM, spend that extra money on this one.

8GB is still plenty of RAM for most users but the CPU upgrade from 6200u to 8350u is enormous and will mean the laptop stays relevant for years longer.

The single threaded performance - in synthetics - is only about 25% (passmark). But yeah mutithreaded it's about twice as fast.

Honestly if you're writing word documents for school, and the extra $120 honestly means you won't have food on the table until the next pay cheque…the $180 laptop is going to still perform perfectly well - slower, but will work.

Also, not eating in Australia - as insane as it is - is a fact of life for some families, before anyone calls this out as a hyperbole.

    • HI, we can upgrade the RAM to 16GB for extra $45. Thanks.

  • which one is better out of these 2?

      err

      how is this not obvious

      fhd vs hd?

the slight cpu bump isnt a big deal

      spend the $18

      • 12.5 inch v 14 inch screen and 1.11kg v 1.36kg too. The product description of the Fujitsu says 128GB storage too despite the listing here so that would make me wary.

        • Did OP use the wrong thumbnail for the Fujitsu ? Don't think they can fit numpad onto 12.5"

        • Thanks for pointing that out. Just updated the listing.

      • Had a lot of the fleet of the dell 7xxx machines fail on the usbc port - required a total replacement mb , which was under warranty. Would look at differnt options if you envisage using a usbc dock for monitors and peripherals

  • Would any of the above laptops run Dota 2 or am I asking for too much?

Above 3 integrated graphics perform similar to Geforce 920m , can run Dota2 around 40fps at 1366x768 res on medium settings.

For full-HD 1920x1080 gameplay, you'll need the HP Zbook below that comes with Nvidia quadro that pars with Geforce 950m.

        Thank you very much!

  • Got anything with integrated WWAN/LTE/4G?

  • I find pre 7xxxxu i5s to be too slow on windows 10. It will works, you can definitely still use it and not regret the purchase, but windows 10 bloat have definitely made it chuggy even for basic web browsing.

  • Where all the Lenovos? Should be plenty, but dont see them often at decent prices

B grade! Thank but no thanks

The Dell 5310 is a golden combination for work. A 13inch 2in1 but has dual RAM, PCIE, full M.2 and a huge battery that is all accessible by simply unscrewing the bottom. Then you have a decent IPS screen, backlit keyboard, decent typing, FHD webcam with hello Windows and shutter. It's also possible to get 15+hours with wifi if you down clock the CPU.

Brilliant little thing. They don't make them like that anymore.

    • The naming is strange… 7390.. 5310.. going down means better?
Also, the usb c is not thunderbolt?

  • Just saying I didnt have a good experiencewith this mob, to each his own.

    • What happened? I'm waiting to hear back for a dead refurb I got off ebay from a sale last week.

      • yearr the keyboard for mine didnt work. It was refunded after i raised a paypal dispute but comms were quite poor and required multiple follow ups to get an answer. Lot of faffin about

  • What's the cheapest 15"+ FHD screen for media viewing laptop? Looking at around $400-450 max.

    • Hi, will check the stock and get back to you. Thanks.

      • Thanks, looks OK but it's a bit too old. I'll wait for now.

  • All A grade?

    • Hi, there are very few A grades. Most of them are B. Most of them graded as B are in very good condition though.

      • Some of the listings doesn't list the grade, thanks for the quick respond.

  • Hey maybe interested in the Latitude 5310, how long is the remaining Dell warranty and does it have fingerprint sensor?
