Hi everyone,

It's Peter from OECK here. We are running a special which gives customers 45% OFF our monthly smartVPN subscription. This coupon will apply to your subscription for as long as you keep your subscription active. We also offer a 30 day money-back guarantee.

Oeck is a new type of VPN with industry-first features. We own all of our own hardware and do not use hard drives at all. Our VPN nodes are RAM only and we do not log user VPN traffic or activity. Although our service is a privacy-focused service, we do offer other neat features as part of your subscription. Our system is highly automated so that you don't need to go server surfing to find a server for channels such as Netflix, Kayo, etc. Simply connect to the VPN region closest to you and we take care of the rest. We automatically put streaming services through residential IPs whilst other traffic remains fast by going through the datacentre. We have 30 residential IP Netflix regions available and many other streaming services which can be independently set.

Quick FAQ -

We are Australian but the company is registered in Hong Kong due to Hong Kong still having good privacy laws for VPN providers. Should this change we will be moving to Singapore.

If you have a special use case for OECK, you can try connecting with different settings, such as UDP or TCP, or 128 or 256. Each of the settings will give you different results, such as lower ping, higher transfer rate, etc. You will need to test these out to see which one works the best for your device.

We do not yet offer Wireguard. We use OpenVPN. We suggest using the official OpenVPN apps to connect.

We do not offer Japan for Netflix and Optus Sport is not yet supported.

Amazon will work, but not via our residential network. You will need to connect to the VPN region you would like to use for Amazon.

The VPN regions are currently Melbourne, Sydney, Seattle, London and Amsterdam.

We offer a range of unique features, so please be sure to check out our website. If you are not sure about something, please ask.

  • Hi Peter, what does Oeck offer that a competitor such as Surfshark doesn't? From what I can see, they offer much of the same features but cost less if bought over a longer period of time.

      Hi ldd-mn,

We're pretty different to Surfshark. We both provide privacy services, but we do things a bit differently. Please take a look at the following.

Streaming Automation - Connect to the VPN region nearest to your location and still access content from overseas streaming services. We take away the need for you to jump around VPN regions. You can also set regions for specific streaming services. For example you can set your Netflix region independently - similar to how a smartDNS service works. This means no more searching for the "right" server to connect to. Just connect to the VPN and we take care of the rest. Basically, say you connect to Melbourne as a VPN region. You can still access content from multiple regions across the globe without needing to switch regions over and over again.

Device Profiles - You can have up to 100. Each profile allows you to have unique settings for when you log in. For example, you can have one for your computer, another for your iPad, another for your partner, another for your child, etc.

Advanced Port Forwarding - You no longer need to keep track of IP addresses or configure your software to work with the VPN ports you are given. Just tell us which port to forward to and which device profile and it's done.

For example, if you set up a web server on your computer and enable port forwarding, regardless of which VPN server you ever connect to ( any server, any region ), to access your web server you would go to username-mydevice.oeck.me:portNumber - It stays the same :)

      Also great for torrenting.

Ad, Malware, Social Network and Adult blocker - You can pick and choose which ( if any ) of the blockers you want enabled for each device profile. This allows you to turn on Adult blocking for children's devices but keep yours open. It is also very extensive and does a good job of blocking most ad, tracker and malware domains.

Custom filter - You can take the blockers even further by adding your own domain block-list on a per-device level. This gives you complete control over each and every device. This is very powerful and is easily built on.

Custom DNS - You can set your DNS on a per-device level. You can choose for the VPN to give you complete control to your DNS, or set your DNS and still allow the VPN to take control over certain domains in order for the channels and blocking to still work. This means you can even use your own DNS if you wanted to.

Automated server selection - When a user connects to a region they will always connect to a server with the most resources available. This completely removes the need to server-surf on the users end. They just connect to a region and they will be sure to jump on the server within that region that has the most resources available at that point in time.

All of our VPN servers run without ANY hard drives at all. We have gone to great lengths to make sure our users get the best service and the most secure one. As a VPN service - forgetting the bells and whistles - it is fast and secure with fantastic privacy.

      Regards,
      Peter @ OECK.

Thanks a lot for your help 🙂

          Did the issue get resolved?

As in, can you access it now?

          • +2

@CereaL: It was resolved and I could access Max

  • Certainly seems interesting, sadly I've only just resubscribed with NordVPN for 2 years. Do you have a dedicated IP option?

    • Hi Heldnight,

We do not offer dedicated IP addresses as both Cameron and I didn't like the idea due to privacy concerns. Is there any reason you're after a dedicated IP address? We have a very good port-forwarding system in place if you need to get into your network. If you're worried about CAPTCHA issues, we don't have any.

      • Was more for work purposes, it's going to be awhile. But will be checking VPN's again after my current subscription is up, I'm sure I'll check OECK out again then. Though sadly might not be the same deals haha

        • No worries :)

For work purposes it should be okay without a dedicated IP. But without knowing what setup you will be running, I can't give advice. But feel free to check out our port-forwarding feature and see if it suits your needs later down the road.

          Regards,
          Peter @ OECK.

    Hi Peter,

My account expires next month, do you have any deals on 12 + months? This deal works out cheaper than buying the 12 month offer.

    Cheers

    • Hi MrBr0,

We are not offering deals for our 12 month subscriptions. However, once your current subscription expires next month, please open up a support ticket and we will give you the monthly discounted pricing that we are offering here. Thanks for sticking with us! Very much appreciated :)

      Regards,
      Peter @ OECK.

  • Was in need of a VPN (as a previous VPN's offer is about to end) so this worked out well.

      Hi Now Gone,

Glad to have you on board! Thanks for giving us a go. Please open a support ticket if you ever need help with anything.

  • @OECK / anyone else who can answer this .

I'm trying to find a list of countries you can appear… but I'm unable to locate this info.

For example, I want to appear as NZ so I can watch TVNZ… is this even possible?

Other times I might want to appear as say Argentina or Turkey or elsewhere, for travel purposes 😉

The FAQ says look in the OpenVPN file but it only has the server IPs and not what countries you can select.

I understand there is the 30 day money back guarantee, but that involves having to sign up first, and if it doesn't answer my questions, I have to submit the ticket to cancel and refund. I don't think that's fair on your company.

Happy to discuss privately if you rather go down that option… but I'm sure others would be curious as well.

Or have I completely missed a whole section? I even clicked through the guide section but it didn't help.

    • Hi CereaL,

Our VPN does not work in the way you're intending it to work. We offer 4 VPN regions, which are Melbourne, Sydney, Seattle and Amsterdam. These are "local hubs" and as a user, you connect to the closest one to you. The geounblocking is done in the background, so if you want to access a streaming service from USA, you don't need to connect to the USA region, we automatically do it for you for services we have unblocked. If you give me a list of streaming services you would like unblocked, we can see if we have a residential proxy located in that region, and if we do, we can most likely unblock the service if we have not done so already.

However, this applies to streaming services only. We are happy to add streaming services, but if you're looking to unblock hundreds of channels at random, we are probably not the VPN for you. You would be far better off with a smartDNS service, or a VPN which has the regions you want available ( assuming they are not blocked ). We do add channels, but we add these based on demand for channels as it is a lot of upkeep through our residential network.

You can find our network graphs at https://www.oeck.com/network-graphs/

I hope this answers your question. If not, please let me know.

      Regards,
      Peter @ OECK.

  • Hi Peter,

Is it possible to access Sky NZ via the oeck service? If not would you consider adding it?
