It's easy to make this into a deal…

Small Cheeseburger Meal (Small Fries + Small Drink) with free Pokemon Battle Cards for $5.75 (normally $8.40).

      • +2

        Pokemon cards are worth 0.4 X $7 Retail = $2.80

    • +1

The bargain is not having to purchase the said Pokèmon cards when you buy a Happy Meal in which would otherwise have to buy from a hobby/collectors shop

      • Your getting a cheeseburger, fries and a drink for half price. There was also a really good deal on gym membership a few says ago that'll go well with this so the savings just keep adding up.

    • where jv

  • RRP belongs in the forums
Ps when do we get the grimace shake?

  • +2

I remember 2022 when happy meals were $4.95

    • +3

6 nuggets are like $10 now it’s ridiculous

      • +4

50c a nugget, 50c a can of coke (24 for $12) in 2019. What a time it was to be alive. Even a succulent Chinese meal was $11.50

How much was Judo lessons in 2019?

          • @D3NI3D: Judo lessons were $68 for 10 classes taught by Sensei Scoutmaster Luke

      • Prices will probably never go down either.

    • I fondly remember shoving plastic straws up turtles' noses, until they got banned. The paper ones are much harder to get up there.

      • The plastic police ruined everything. The Batman pen toppers won’t ever be coming back

So what's the most valuable cards out of these deals?

    • +1

Maybe the ones with the foil (sparkly) patterns.

Let the hype die down and pick up the individual cards on eBay for $1-$3 each.

Is it just me or they don't give out books anymore. Last time i could get a book was 2 years ago at my local Mcdonalds. Go about once a month and my kids prefer the books.

    • Same. Select a book, end up with a toy, albeit it's rare we have Maccas now.

My local never had any of these Pokemon cards in stock either last time. Call me cynical, but seeing them on FB Marketplace by the unopened boxload makes you wonder

    • Yep, and the 'toys' seem to always just be random printed cardboard cut outs or trading cards. We don't have it often, so maybe we've been unlucky with the rotation.

I'm in two minds about it though, as most just ends up going to landfill sooner than it should.

How many actual Pokemon cards so you get?

    • +3

Four and you should also get one foil card included in that

  • +2

You can always buy the happy meal toy as a standalone for $2 each. I usually buy it as a standalone when i order the dinner box and add the toy on top of the meal.
Otherwise, when the kids really want the happy meal toy and they are not hungry, i use drive thru for happy meal toy only lol.

    • Depending on the demand, some stores won't let you do that or at minimum won't let you get the extra 'toy' on top

    • can you do that in the app?

      • You can't, only drive thru or in store only.

Not a deal. This is just a meal with a special promotion.

Plus, this is very unOzBargain. If you are going to post a deal, at least tell everyone that you can buy multiple packs from the counter by asking to purchase the toy only for $2 each. I've gotten 6 packs and not needed to waste an extra $3.75 each on food that you don't even like.

    • But then the children are disappointed when they don't receive one in their happy meal because the store has no stock left…

Some people just don't understand what it mean to our family! Thanks for the post.

Just bought my son a happy meal.
They gave us 2 packs, he asked nicely

    We got 5 good pulls

THEY DIDNT PUT A TOY IN THE BOX

  • Anyone got a Pikachu yet?

    • +1

Got one tonight, kids stoked. She wants to sell it

      • +1

Pokemon cards generally sell for a lot less than you expected (aside from the usual outliers).

Quick look on eBay says it sells for $10-$15 posted, and this is not accounting for the various fees. Local card shops will take a lot less than that.

Not bad for pocket change, but I'd rather keep the cards for as memories are worth more than the card's value.

Sold one last time for $20, chick drove 30km to get it. No bites on this one so far.

        • I have a pikachu world series from my youth somewhere in the house….

    • +1

      I have 3+ foil pikachus…..
