Hi Rep, you never answered member @ca6leguy last post -

Are these fully Australian made shutters?

    • -5

I doubt it - looks like more Made in China crap - or similar… No thanks!

Well it's been over 13hrs so it doesn't look like the Rep is going to reply again. If Reps are going to use this community website for sharing bargains the least they could do is reply to questions.

While not everything that comes out of China is crap it appears there may be some misleading advertising going on.

    • it says this in the website

      Installed within 3 weeks
Since we make the shutters locally, we avoid long times from shipping from overseas.

So do they important the materials from China (or similar) and then construct it over here? If that’s the case, it’s still made in China (or similar) to me.

        • +3

I don't know I dont bloody work there lol, I was just replying what I saw in regards to 'Australian made' and local factory. Nfi what the Aussie market is in terms of local wood

          • @MeesusEff: Very unlikely the source materials (PVC polymer) are locally produced. For example Franklyn notes that the materials are "directly imported".

Our experience of n=1 - Franklyn is a long established company with a 20 year warranty on shutters. Very good product and the installation was first rate.

      • Hi MeesusEff, Thank you.

Our factory offers complete product lines of plantation, aluminium, and timber shutters. We take pride in our support to Aussie businesses by offering materials that are locally made and sourced. In contrast to companies with long lead times, we highlight our local sourcing and manufacturing capabilities. In addition, customers have the flexibility to opt for either Australian-made or imported materials based on their personal preferences and budget. We also stand behind all our crafted shutters, backed by a 7-year warranty on all material, production and installation.

Comment to post ratio is a very important part of ozbargain. No point posting things and ignoring a potential customer.

I would like to know as well. Are they Australian made or just assembled in Australia from what has been sourced from China. It is frustrating when sonething is posted as a bargain but seems to just be advertising.

The offer big thing for me is what is the saving. How much is it normally?

    • Hi cjv7, Thank you for your reply. Based on our experience, DIY plantation shutters (excluding installation) typically start at $350 per square meter in the current market. Hope this can help you compare or calculate the savings. Also, the websites that provide DIY shutter solutions often offer instant quotes so I believe the pricing is quite transparent.
