for sure in 3 days, but will be gone instantly as per usual.

if you were aussie, you would know the taste starts with family homegrown Aussie ginger from there farm. Then the master brewers brew it over 3 days to there traditional family recipe, the same they used for four generations.

this is why it is in so much demand.

            • +12

@kaleidoscope: THEIR farm is down THERE near Bundaberg. This is where they brew it to THEIR traditional recipe.

              • @gomazz: Looks like i’ve ruffled some feathers of some folks. Whether it’s a closely guarded traditional home brewed recipe or some other generic recipe its end of the day sugared water in a glass bottle 🤷‍♂️…

10.6g/100ml to be precise as per label on the bottle which is 44% of daily recommended sugar intake.

                ——
Have tried their whiskey some time ago, may be around average for my liking…

                • +3

@kaleidoscope: The Bundaberg Rum business is owned and run separately to the Bundaberg Brewed Drinks…though they do have a collaborative alcoholic ginger beer under the BR name.

              • @gomazz: Bundaberg Ginger Beer comes from QLD I believe. I don't know why people refer to it as 'down there'. QLD is a state at the top of the map of Australia

@Cheapkiwi: NT is above QLD ?
                    NT is west of QLD.
The most northern part of Australia is Cape York in Queensland.

      • Don't think they match Aldi prices, not an online store also like Colesworth @freedomofspeech

The sugarless one has much more ginger in it and tastes way better.

    • +1

Is that on sale as well?

    • +3

I can't stand the artificial sweeteners alternatives that they put in it which sucks imo as the regular one is really damn sweet. I'd love one to be kinda halfway in between. But until then I'll have to stick with the regular one.

    • +3

Saxbys no sugar is much better.

    • Ginger is an expensive ingredient so companies would tend to be very stingy with it. Honey is another expensive one. Mead is dearer to make than grape wines. That said, I'm not sure anyone consumes mead other than me. In Dan Murphy's there are just a few bottles of 2 different brands next to the fortified wines port/sherry/ etc.

  • Were a lot cheaper a few years ago.

    Sugar fever?

Are sugarless ones available or not?

Hate to be that guy . But $9.99 divided by 10 is 99.9cents. which is actually $1…. Per bottle

    • -1

      Nobody's splitting hairs here lol

    • -2

No 99.9999999999……. ( To infinity ) cents equals one dollar.

Time to dust off your textbook. It approaches but never equals one dollar.

        • +2

For practical purposes we can assume 99.9999c recurring to be equal to $1.00.

          • @daanish: I totally agree. My response was to someone being pedantic so I replied in kind.

@PeterSnoot: I assumed as much. I was just continuing the theme since the OC mentioned their educational background. Classic theory vs practical maths beef.

      • but the result does not equal 99.99 recurring cents…. so your argument does not apply either way xd
algebraic proof (I know what you're getting at, it's just that it's not applicable in this situation) :

Like their ginger beer, but glass bottles are a PITA to store until they go back for the deposit refund.
Why can't they sell them in regular size cans which I can crush flat…

    • +2

Unfortunately in NSW you don't get a refund for crushed cans

      • Expanding on this. You need to scan the barcode at the drop off machine. That's why you can't crush them.

        • I take mine to a drive in depot, no machines near me anyway.

I think it's at the depots discretion whether to accept crushed or not but the one near me does luckily.

  • Not a fan of the beverage but cheaper than others

  • Stopped by 2 Aldis in VIC and been told they don't even stock them. 😢

    • +1

A dozen in stock at Camberwell Melbourne just now. They are in the general specials area rather than with the drinks (though near to them).

  • Cascade or Bundaberg ginger beer?

  • Woolies SA $11 also
