Mili Mitag Item Finder 3-Pack $69.99 Delivered @ Costco (Membership Required)

90

Similar to Apple Airtags, compatible with All Apple Devices using the "Find My" Network, uses CR2032 battery. Details in link.
Listed as a "Hot" deal at Costco so price may go up later.
I've ordered a 3 pack to try them out.
Differences: Can turn on/off by pressing tag so might accidentally turn off if squashed. Bigger, tag has a keyring hole and leather keyrings are also included.
Probably doesn't have ultrawideband for precision location with newer iPhones. (Thanks b3au)
Much cheaper than Apple Airtags.

I assume these tags lack ultrawideband, so no "precision finding"

    • Well spotted. Assume that's one of the reasons they are cheaper.
As a cheapskate OzBargainer, none of my iPhones are new enough to support ultrawideband so can't use that with my my existing airtags either.

Should we be concerned about that webpage….. if you scroll down a little, they give an example of find my keys, my mother, and my cat.

No problems about the first two examples… but find my cat….with location shown as "feilao'an private KITCHEN?? some folks talk about stereotypes, but sheesh!!

Further reading of the website….and my mental picture goes worse!

If I understand the device from the website, you can display the tag's location on your phone, or tell the tag to make noise…. the webpage has an image of a speaker, and says "80-100 dp loud sound". I took the apparently reasonable guess that it's been typed incorrectly, intending 80-100Db (decibels) type loud sound.

The internet tells me that 100Db is equivalent to the sound of a jackhammer, is dangerous to human hearing, and requires hearing protection.

I now have visions of felix the cat using all 9 lives and then maybe more…. surely felix wouldn't stand still when blasted with 100 Db from something on his collar!

I see a phone app displaying a rapidly moving tag for as long as the tag is activated…. perhaps finally halting at the finish line of the local greyhound track.

I haven't had a drink yet, but I think I need one now.

      • Ok, so its one hell of a Mothertracker ?

  • How are these compared to Apple AirTags? Do the batteries in them last the 12-months as indicated?

  • Now showing as "out of Stock" with a "notify me when available" option for members.
