  • Ah that’s rough - my phone number was spoofed by scammers a couple of years ago. Very frustrating, as all you can do is wait for them to move on to another number

I won't even say my name when answering the phone. if they don't already know my name then I don't want to give it to them.

    • "Hello"

      • When I was a kid people answered the phone "Hello, Sinnerator speaking". I guess back then we didn't have autodiallers, well we did but they were used to spam and not harvest info.

    • Would it be wise to not state name in voicemail aswell?

      • Hmmm, that might be a good idea. I might record a robot voice one. If someone is calling me they should know it's me.

        • I see thanks

    • I just don't answer the phone full stop

How do we know BPC rep account hasn't been hacked and that this post is the scam?

If I call the mobile number listed will a foreign sounding "Dennis" answer?

    • That's another way of looking at it also.

    • oh dennis doopy doo, i'm a scammin you

      Very Good Question haha XD

    • With 1 in 5 Australians born overseas, there is a very good chance some one "foreign sounding" answering the phone will be a legitimate operator.
