Seeking Recommendations for Smallish 2 in 1 Laptop

Hi all, I bought myself a laptop but it's too big and heavy for my needs, so I'm in search of a new one.

I'm doing a lot of flying for work at the moment so am looking for something around 14". Since I'll be on planes a lot, I'd also like a convertible/2-in-1 so that I can use it like a tablet (less space).

I'm also looking for something that is lightweight and with good battery life.

It'll be mostly for work purposes and maybe some light gaming, so amazing graphics isn't too much of a necessity.

My budget is up to $1,500.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

acer swift x would tick the boxes and be quite decent gaming for a 1.4kg laptop. had some deals on here in the past, but it would be worth seeing if there is a newer model.

No idea where you are, but have you thought about second hand? For example, you'd get over $1200 change from your $1500 with something like this one https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/787912179699656

    • I'm in Brisbane, but I don't mind spending full price since it's for work, since it means I'll get full warranty/support etc. I just want to make sure I'm getting the most bang for my buck!

I thought that was a good idea too, until I actually tried it. Windows is a crap tablet operating system compared to Android.

    • I had a MS Surface a few years ago and enjoyed it, but I have to agree that I didn't use it as a tablet too much. But I still think it would be a nice addition for the times when I might want it :)

If you liked the MS Surface, then you should go with another one.

  • Had a Macbook Air for a while, then replaced it with the lenovo duet 5 and I don't miss the macbook at all. Would have preferred the duet 3 but it wasn't out at the time, the 15 has a pretty wide screen which is good for browsing and watching stuff

  • What's the sweet spot for people's preferred laptop size? Like Goldilocks, I've found 17" too big, and 13" sometimrs a bit small.
