Post Office Box Rewards (Infinite Rewards)

So if you have a PO Box, you may or may not know you can get some discounted items/vouchers through their rewards program. Well, I've ordered a Coles voucher through them a few times, even though it's only 4%, which reduces even more after they apply their fee (works out about 1.9%), but it's something. This time around though, they don't seem to want to send me the voucher. Have followed up multiple times, advised I'd be going to a credit card chargeback if they didn't respond, and finally they said they can't get the vouchers through their supplier and would provide a refund (which I now get to wait 7-10 days for).

While not being able to get any response, I also contacted the provided customer service email for Infinite Rewards, and that email bounced (550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied.). So I'm wondering if Infinite Rewards has collapsed or something? I believe they underwrite other reward schemes, so I wondered if anyone had heard anything or had similar bad experiences?

I'm not planning to use them anymore after this hassle, and I did also write and complain to Aus Post directly and suggested they withdraw the rewards plan if this is the service. But just curious if there's any other rumours/experiences out there.

Also, if it helps here are some alternate sources for Coles gift card discounts once you get this sorted.

    • In the same boat atm. (May 2024) The contact emails just give “we care” responses. That phone number did answer and someone “made a note”. But nothing happened. Aust Post deny liability or concern.
A search has found at the time of OPs issue Infinite Rewards was suspended from the ASX for failing to demonstrate financial liability.

It's APost. It's Latin for feral

  • I have had the exact same experience. It has been 2 weeks.

  • So over 10 days later, and unsurprisingly my refund has not been completed, nor have I received the gift card I ordered. I am now following up on the refund again, and will be initiating a chargeback on my credit card tomorrow if I don't get a response today.

I did try emailing the alternate address above (same response, 550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied.) and the phone number just goes through to a busy tone. So yeah, don't order gift cards via Post Office Box rewards anymore. In fact, I'd probably be giving anything underwritten by Infinite Rewards a wide berth.

As to the other sources, I'm aware of that page, but I don't have most of the related services needed to get other Coles Gift cards (apart from Cash Rewards which hardly seems worth it. Frankly 1.9% hardly seemed worth it). But thanks anyway.

    • You are supposed to get the full 4% if you use bank transfer, which I did. That stiffs me because I can’t do chargeback. At least I only ordered a $100 as a test. I was fooled by trusting Aus Post. Whilst they aren’t perfect, they don’t usually brazenly steal.

  • I have not been successful in getting a refund either from them. I have tried to do a chargeback, but as this was paid via bank transfer, the bank said there is no guarantee that the charge back will be successful. I will be initiating a Fair Trading complaint on them next. I can't believe businesses can just take money without providing the goods without any recourse.

  • Ah bummer, just seen this thread, they were pretty good a few months ago but have been OS so didn't think twice about buying another gift card. Any other refund suggestions?

  • Hi, also in the same boat. Any suggestions.

  • I did initiate the chargeback which included an immediate refund from my CC provider while they follow up with the merchant. So essentially I have my money back, but I haven't heard anything further from or about them. I certainly won't be ordering anything further.

Meanwhile, my complaint to Aust Post seemed to be responded to as though I was having an issue receiving a gift card in the mail (form letter including some crap about using alternate addresses). I haven't checked, but judging by recent posts, it would seem the program is still active. So others could try complaining but I don't get the impressions Aust Post are too concerned.

I've got a couple of mail threads going with these guys and they still respond intermittently. Here's the latest, doesn't inspire much confidence after a couple of months….

    • Which email address are you in contact with?

  • Finally got my giftcard 58 days after payment. Persistence and civility were the keys I think.
Just in time for Xmas. Never again tho.

So I had a similar experience in July 2023. I emailed (and got bounced) multiple times. Before I finally called a number, don't remember which, where I was told someone would get in touch.

I finally get a voucher from a Pialyn Selosa, Product Manager at myrewards.com.au. She emailed me the vouchers from pia AT myrewards.com.au.

Perhaps that is something you should try to see if you get a bit more joy.

    • I’ve had endless correspondence with her and she keeps telling me it will arrive next week

      • May 1 2024, an email to Pia bounced with an “on holidays until May 8 2024” Card ordered 19 April 2024.
Looking at their financial history and overseas practices, they don’t seem to be able to pay for their inventories sometimes. So no stock, no fulfilment.

  • Finally received my egift card, paid for 24/9, received today 4/1

The post office was absolutely not interested in helping and merely referred me to the card provider

Also just received my GC - PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR.

  • Same issue. Very annoying and time wasting to contact and still not resolved.

  • Lucky for those who received a giftcard. I contacted Fair Trading NSW, and they were not able to get in touch with the company, and couldn't pursue any further. Now the POBox reward website has disappeard, along with www.infiniterewards.com.au. Safe to say, we've lost our money. Probably the lesson to learn here is, do not pay via bank transfer. I believe if this was done via Visa or Mastercard, they would be able to reverse the transaction.

    • Contact your bank and report it as a fraud transaction. give them the information along with the website.

      • That was the first thing I did, to contact the bank. They tried to reverse the transaction, but wasn't successful. I even had to pay $30 for that. Because it was a bank transfer, not a visa or mastercard transaction. If anyone has any other ideas, please do tell!

        • I also had issues getting my giftcard issued, but sent an email to a number of the email addresses listed in this thread.

I did receive a reply within a week from this address: myrewards @ pegasusgroupaustralia.zohodesk.com.au.

Maybe try giving that a go! Goodluck!

    • The PO Box Rewards website has reappeared and Infinite Rewards has moved to https://online.perx.com.au/

  • Sounds like the column on the egift page needs to be removed: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

I have deleted the entry for it in the Platforms table, and have left a note in the section above the table linking back to this forum post.

      • The column for PO Box is still there @WookieMonster. I wish I saw this before I went ahead and purchased the coles gift card. I missed the note in the section that mentions not to buy.

Now I have to go through chasing them up.

  • The rewards provider, My Rewards International (MRI) appears to have been suspended from the ASX due to non-compliance of certain requirements.
A quick look at Hotcopper suggests shareholders appear to have been losing money, and they can't sell their shares due to the ASX suspension.
With their financial difficulties, I wonder why they're still accepting customer orders, it's starting to feel like Ponzi Scheme.

    • Sounds like trading while insolvent. I believe they are in liquidation in Ireland.
Australia Post is complicit in the fraud by allowing the operator to continue.

  • Update: Consumer Affairs Vic advised sending a request headed Letter of Demand in the title with the order number. Works 9 times out of 10 they said.
Yep, got a sensible reply and the gift card this morning.
But I won't use them again.

    • Interesting - mind sharing the template?
