  • Any bargains for Broadband?

    • Hey onomatopoeia, we would be bringing Broadband deal very soon, Keep your eye out.

      • +2

I even scarified couple of weeks to join early for Tangerine with Econnex special cash back (it was little over $100), I'm ozbargainer over 5 years with very familiar with cashrewards and shopback link and I was very carefully arranged to join tangerine with link. I didn't see it comes back as cashback so I chased with shopback and raised a case number then only showing little over $60, then i followed up after couple of weeks with shopback again and it's declined.

I perhaps had about over 300 claims so far, I rejected 2-3 claims so far and it is one of them (except amazon which I no longer try to get cash back).
Is @Econnex top 1% failure out of my cash back claims? I also gave up of Tangerine first month free for this over 100 dollars claim, I'm going to write this to other Econnex deal till I hear the positive response from Econnex.

        • I am on the same boat, I joined Superloop via Shopback and Shopback rejected me after I provided all the order confirmation, screenshot etc

  • Good luck actually getting the card from these guys. It definitely seems very much hit and miss.

    • +2

I received mine today, just a few days after the stated timeframe.

These Commercial Gift Cards expire in 90 days after delivered - as shown in Woolworths email.

  • I signed up gas on 06/03/23 and received the gift card on 20/06/23. i would think the gift card would be earlier if my gas provider finalized the final bill early. happy to receive 2 x $50 woolies gift cards to spend on grocery. happy customer here from previous experience.

    • Hey dtingy, Thank you so much for the positive feedback, please note eligible recipients will receive a Woolworths Store Bonus eGift Card by email up to 90-120 days after successfully switching their energy.

  • It looks like Shopback has $108 cashback for electricity sign up as well, which also uses the Econnex platform.

    • +1

To my understanding, they don't stack. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

      • +1

MrFizz, Thats correct, this offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.

        • HI @Manyo, Would this stack up with the $75 Elec + $75 Gas credit that AGL has on offer?

          • +1

@marlco: Hey marlco, yes that can be stacked up, any offers from the retailer's end will be eligible to go along with this campaign.

            • @Manyo: @Manyo
I just got off chat with Simply Energy regarding their VIC Electricity Blue Perks $200 sign-up bonus credit.
Wanted to check if I'm eligible to get their $200credit if I sign-up using Econnex (third party website).

As I wanted to know if it can be stacked.

Simply Energy customer service rep can't confirm this (say I need to check with Econnex and they don't know who Econnex is).

So if using the Econnex deal link to signup to Simply Energy.
If Simply Energy's Promo deal comes up with my address, then I can stack both deals (Econnex $100wow as well)??

As you've mentioned any offers from the retailer's end will be eligible to go along with this campaign.(can be stacked up)

              • +1

@JA1: Majority of times when a benefit is paid to a third party website, they do not pay any other benefits

              • @JA1: Hey NDIB, Yes, you can avail of both benefits together. You can sign up using the link, and we will verify your serviceability before processing your application. Please share your Reference number once you do the signup.

                • @Manyo: @easternculture
Yes, you're correct. When I've asked in the past, their condition is that sign-ups need to be through their "direct" website (not eligible if sign-up through third party websites)

Hence why I wanted to double-check with both SimplyEnergy and Manyo.

                  @Manyo,
                  Thanks for your response.

I actually just chatted to 2nd different Simply Energy rep.(I wanted 2nd confirmation)

Although they confirmed that their $200welcome credit is included directly to the Plan, so I should sign-up through their direct website(not third party).

However, they did add that I should also check with Econnex (if the third party's T&C will include the $200 in the selected Plan).

So, as long as the Plan selected shows the $200 through Econnex Deal link, I'll receive the $200 Simply Energy credit as well?

                  Reasons for making sure:
                  1) Some energy companies have Exclusions to avail their promo credit if signing through third party website
                  2) If I'm not going to get the $200 SimplyEnergy credit, (only Econnex $100wow), than I'm better signing up through SimplyEnergy's direct Website.(not Econnex's Link)

If I signup through Econnex's Link(meet all T&C) and don't end up getting SimplyEnergy's $200, will Econnex resolve this issue?

I would want 100% confirmation, before signing up, thanks

                  • @JA1: Hey NDIB, yes we will try to resolve all the issues if you face any. The reason we asked for the reference number was that we could cross-check, that everything is aligned.

But if you still have your reservations, you can directly sign up to the retailer or you can always cancel the signup within a 10 day cooling off period.

                    • @Manyo: @Manyo,
                      Thanks for your quick responses!

Seeing the deal ends tomorrow I wanted confirmation before signing up today (don't want to sign up tomorrow in case run into system issues).

Sorry for asking repetitive questions (I want absolute confirmation and guarantee).

                      Appreciate your confirmation!

                  • @JA1: Honestly, i wouldnt trust the OP to resolve any issues if you dont get paid the $200 credit from simply energy based from the previous deals comments and complaints by ozbargainers. And econnex will not reimburse you the $200. Its been hard enough for alot of ozbargainers to get the signup bonus, only to be told they havent met the T&C. Dont fall into the same trap they did.

But its up to you end of the day.

Sorry for asking repetitive questions (I want absolute confirmation and guarantee).

Lol, your not going to get that. If you do, get it via email in writing so you can complain to energy ombudsman if econnex dont deliver

                    • @easternculture: @easternculture
                      Appreciate the info.
Guess I'll need to revisit some of the older posts. (If can definitely stack)

The issue here is that it also depends on the Energy retailer's own T&C (as they are the ones approving their own sign-up credit not Econnex)

Has anyone else had these 2 Promo's stacked in the past?
Or it may be different depending on the individual Energy retailer's T&C?

                      • +1

@JA1: You will have to get the retailers agreement with econnex.

But my past experience is if a comission is paid to a third party, then any other benefits to the signing up party is not honored .

                        Happy to be proven wrong.

                      • @JA1: @NDIB Did you end up signing up with Simply Energy via Econnex or directly on the SE website? I'm in the same situation now, thinking of signing up through shopback (Econnex) but not convinced.

                        • @gao234: Yes signed-up with SE via Econnex to double-dip. Received SE welcome pack with confirmation of the $200credit.

Another Ozbargain member was able to avail both $100wow GC and Tango $150credit on a previous Econnex deal.

Although accessing both may not always be the case. May be different depending on the individual Energy retailer's T&C.
So far proven it has worked with Tango and SE via Econnex.

It may or may not work with Shopback.
I've had no experience as I prefer not signing via Shopback or Cashrewards.

Unlike the shorter 30 day requirement, there's a longer minimum 75 days to be eligible for SB/CR cashback.

                          • @JA1: Good to know it works. Many thanks for letting us know your experience, which is really helpful.

  • Am I eligible switching for Origin Energy to AGL for Gas only? When is this campaign commenced? I just did a switch this morning?

    • AGL already have a welcome back offer for $100 per energy account.

    • Hey huacker, yes you may switch to AGL gas only, This campaign Commenced today, kindly DM us your reference number in order to track your application and find the right solution.

    • Sign up directly to AGL here for $100 welcome back per energy
      https://www.agl.com.au/get-connected/electricity-gas-plans/n…

      • interesting, any end date of this promo?

        • Hey test8888, Offer valid until 25th August 2023.

  • -2

No need to use this mob.

Been getting $100/$150/$200 credits/gift cards every 2 months average on gas and electricity.

All you have to do is politely ask the retailer if there are no offers. Been successful with AGL so far $100 x 2 times for gas and $150 x 1 for electricity over past 3 months.

AGL also put me on this supercheap gas plan.

    • @easternculture,
Possible to share some more info?

I try to switch regularly to access Deals/Promos (every 2 months for Gas & every 1 month for Electricity) - even if rates are higher switching regularly I find deals are worth the savings.

With some energy companies, to be eligible for their promos again, there's a timeframe T&C (eg. Powershop must wait >12 months, Glowbird must wait > 24 months)

With AGL their sign-up Promos are ongoing (ranging from $50-$75-$100) & there's no timeframe (I've switched back many times even after 1 month and can still get AGLs sign-up credit everytime)

However, with AGL I've never been able to get $150 credits nor have I been able to get further discounts off their rates (I've asked).
Could the reason be that my stays are too short (keep switching), whereas you remain longer with AGL??

  • @Manyo, does this offer stack with individual offers by the specific company? Eg, Simpy Energy offer a $200 welcome credit, would one qualify for both that and the Woolworths gift card? Thanks.

    • Hey fedex11, yes you will be eligible for both offers as Simply Energy offer is a $200 welcome credit from the retailer's end and as per this deal Econnex is offering the Giftcards.

    • +1

Iirc from previous promo, not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Best to check with simply energy first

      • +1

I just checked with SimplyEnergy this morning.

Customer service rep says they can't confirm if signing up using a 3rd party website qualifies for their $200 welcome bonus (plus as they don't know who Econnex is they can't confirm).

@Manyo - you seem to be 100% sure these deals can stack?

  • -1

I compared my current GloBird tariff with those offered under this 'deal'.

My existing GloBird rates are significantly cheaper.

Even with the gift card, you may end up paying significantly more.

    Check your rates carefully!

    • +3

Your Neg vote is not valid - just because it's not cheaper for YOU!

Everyone has different tariffs, for different locations, amount consumed, time of consumption, & type of energy mix.
      Always compare your own rates.
      And check out other offers.

Glowbird is much more expensive for me (before Econnex $100 gift card)!
      Even Glowbird agreed…

Took up the $50 Glowbird price comparison challenge against Powershop I had switched to in $100 gift card Econnex Deal.
"Your current rates are excellent, and we cannot beat the bill. So as promised we’re happy to confirm your already on an awesome deal, and pay you $50"

PowerShop is also offering $150 credit for switching, on top of $100 gift card offered here - according to Econnex Rep above!
Hope you took that into account in your comparison!

I switch electricity retailers for the benefits, more than the rates. But get good rates as Gobird confirmed!
Switch every 2-3 months. Ends up effectively costing a lot less for me.

      • -3

        Wow, someone is worked up!

        Appropriate uses of negative vote

        • Cheaper price elsewhere

        Source: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

I checked the guidelines prior to voting.

        • Wow - someone missed the point of this Gift Card Deal!

You're Negging about tariffs in a gift card offer Deal… Read the Deal!

So it's not even an appropriate Neg Vote for this Deal!!

          This Deal:
Get up to $200 Woolworths eGift Card for Switching Electricity and Gas Connection

Deal is for the $100-$200 gift cards, not the tariffs!!
Need to show where there is a better offer for a Neg Vote. You didn't.

Read the Deal… It never claimed it offered the cheapest tariffs!
But, that's the aspect you are Negging about! So invalid!

I've found the tariffs offered in Econnex Deals attractive - for the short time I am with a retailer. Some are better than others, & all may not be offered at your location.

Almost everyone is on a different tariff - making comparison difficult in a Deal.
Am currently with a better expired offer to switch.

Up to people to compare tariffs in their individual circumstances, before taking up the Deal. Always compare & seek other offers!!

For those regularly swapping - the gift cards make it a good Deal. I appreciate them💰

Just because you have a cheaper tariff with Gobird, good for you. And good to point it out.

Certainly not the case for me (& many others who recived $50 in the comparison offers) - as Gobird agreed!

Will be checking out if $150 PowerShop credit offer applies to me as past customer.

  • +1

@Manyo Hi OP can you please confirm the $150 bill credit from powershop applies for QLD customers as it isn't displayed on the econnex website when comparing plans?

  • +1

I did this deal last December when it was active and switched both elec and gas. Never received anything

    • Did you contact Econnex?
As with all cashback type Deals - contact them if not received - in just over the promised 90+ days.
Set a Reminder in original Deal for then.

Thought I hadn't received gift cards from March Deal. Contacted Rep via PM in June.
Turned out gift card was sent. Received days earlier. Was searching for Econnex email - it's a Woolworths email. Luckily hadn't been deleted.

      • +1

I emailed them couple months ago to follow up. Never heard back

        • Did you receive a confirmation email after sign up?
Find it… (Search emails for Econnex)

Best contact: send a PM to Rep Manyo when a new Deal is posted, including Reference Number from confirmation email.
My PM was responded to in minutes. Though, maybe I was lucky.

Notice you are new here… Welcome🎉
Under My Account in menu, go to Messages, click New, enter Manyo as who to send to, etc

Try that now. Include your Reference Number & unanswered email to Econnex.
          Hope that works for you!

Tip: when commenting about an Econnex issue, include @Manyo to get Rep's attention.

        • Things that can go wrong, from our mistakes…

Gift Card offer is only valid if clicked through Ozbargain Deal, not direct via Econnex. You still receive confirmation email, but no gift card😜

Were the retailers switched? I assume so.
If give wrong personal details - different to shown on bills, switch of retailer can't be authorised. So no gift card😜
(Some Ozbargainers won't give out their details as shown on bills - name, address, contact details.)

Hopefully you didn't delete Woolworths email containing gift card. T&C: won't be replaced😢
          I almost did that😜

    • Hey Bee45, kindly share your reference number, in order to track your application.

      • Thanks @Manyo for the contact
        Reference number was 1678719914

        • +1

Hey Bee45, we cross-checked your application, and your application came through Honey Science Coporation, not Ozbargain, Kindly contact Honey Science corporation cashback points as we received the sign-up from there.

          • @Manyo: Thanks for looking into it. I didn’t even realise honey had taken control of that.

  • +1

Switched gas then electricity via your portal. Got reference emails but absolutely no reference to gift cards.

I would suggest future webpage development to assure users of any benefits like this.

Gonna be super annoyed if nothing comes.

    • @Manyo
If Econnex sent us an email when you authorise Woolworths to send gift card, it would ensure we were aware it was coming, to check Woolworths emails.
      Should be easy to automate.

Some of us receive so many Woolworths emails, your gift cards are easy to miss or delete (can't be replaced!)😜

A simple step, which could decrease complaints (where's my gift card) & increase certainty for sign ups!

      • +1

Hey Rather be Travelling, we appreciate your suggestion and forwarded it to our dedicated team.

    • Hey hippo2s, kindly share your reference number, will cross-check your application and make sure you will receive you gift card within the timeline.

  • How the F#@#@ do I compare from this shitty website? am I the only one struggling to compare?

    • Hey dcomo, please get in touch with the Econnex Comparison on 18000 13000 or e-mail us at [email protected] or Dm us your callback number, our representative will call you ASAP to sort the issue.

  • +1

Not just you dcomo - SMS one-time passwords not received. Tried Telstra and Optus network so it's looking like an Econnex issue. How embarassment!

    • Hey Party_Pete, please get in touch with the Econnex Comparison on 18000 13000 or e-mail us at [email protected] or Dm us your callback number, our representative will call you ASAP to sort the issue.

      • Thanks Manyo, I did as suggested. Two days later, no callback or reply to email. Is everyone a bit busy in the contact centre?

        • +1

          They will call you ASAP

          Haha , maybe next month.

        • Our sincere apologies, kindly DM us your number or your email ID, we will align a call back ASAP.

  • I can't believe how rude people are on this post toward the OP.

    • From my interactions with OP/ and from my personal research, this company is not trustworthy and dodgy.

If you read previous posts, a lot of ozbargainers never got their gift cards. Only after they complain in public here that OP decides to look into it.

  • I've had no issues receiving my Woolworths gift cards for sign-ups in the past- received within 90-120days as per T&C

    @Manyo@Econnex
Can you confirm if the same T&C still applies?

    1) can switch every 3 months to avail this deal again?

    2) 3 months timeframe wait applies to each Energy separately?
Eg. If used this same deal to switch Electricity 1 month ago but Gas 3 months ago - can use this current deal to switch Gas again (but need to wait another 2 months to switch Electricity to avail deal)

    Please confirm thanks!

Hey NDIB, all the T&Cs are mentioned in the fine print, if you are eligible for the deal, you may sign up and avail the offer.

      • @Manyo,
My above question isn't answered in the Fine Print & T&CS.(I've read these).

I want to check the T&C specific to eligibility if I've already signed up to the same Econnex deal in the past
And if there's still a waiting timeframe before I can sign-up again (timeframe used to be a 3 months wait).

Or has this 3 months timeframe condition now been removed?

        • Hey NDIB, let us try to make it as simple as it can be-

          1. All the bill credits from (any) retailer are totally retailer's discretion, We (anyone) do not have any say in this, we (from any platform) only submit your application and raise any concerns and issues from our end.

          2. We (Econnx) offer Gift cards as part of the campaign.

          3. When we state that this offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount. we mean that you cannot sign up through different platforms( for example shopback, Cashrewards etc). In order to be eligible for the gift card, the application must come through the link provided in the offer details.

          4. Retailer's(any) bill credit can be stacked up with the gift card offer from Econnex.

          5. The 3-month timeframe condition has been removed for this offer. It may or may not be applicable for the next upcoming energy deals.

          6. In case the request for a switch or connection cannot be completed or a request is made for the cancellation within the first 30 days from the date of activation the transaction would be deemed invalid. In simple words, you have to stay with your current retailer for at least 30 days to be eligible for this gift card offer. (We recommend that you get your 1st monthly bill and then switch to avoid any discrepancies)

We hope that we made all the points very clear, please let us know if you have any further questions.

@Manyo: Post an approved PDF so ozbargainers can complain to energy ombudsman if something isnt honored as per above. A post on ozbargain isnt a approved form of communication when it comes to complaints

@Manyo: Typical econnex. Refusing to post or link to official approved documents to avoid official complaints and fines.

Hope i proved to you guys that this mob is not trustworthy

          • @Manyo: Thanks for listing the points in more detail.

You've suggested to send you the Econnex Reference No. after sign-up.
From Reference No. will you be able to check if the $200 Simply Energy credit has been included in the sign-up and confirm this within the 10 day cooling period?
Or it won't be possible to confirm until later on after the 10 day Cooling Period?

Going through Alinta direct website shows a $75 credit for both Electricity & Gas in VIC (both standalone and bundle).
However, the search results for same VIC postcode through Econnex deal link only gives me Alinta Plan for Electricity (with $75credit). But no Alinta results for any Gas plans.
Is the reason due to Econnex having limited Plans? Availability of Alinta VIC electricity plans only but no Gas VIC plans?

Similarly to the QLD Powershop $150 credit only available on the Switch Saver Offer (As Econnex offers a different Plan, the $150 isn't available through Econnex)

AGL Econnex results for VIC comes up with the same Value Saver Plan available. This seems to be the same Plan as per AGL's direct website $100 per energy promo deal.
I understand if different plans, but if it's the same Value Saver Plan, seems this $100 AGL credit is only available through AGLs direct Website?

              @JA1: Hey NDIB,

              1. We will be able to check ASAP. (We suggested the cooling period was only if you faced the issue or you needed time)

              2. We do not compare all brands in the market or all products offered by all brands. At times certain brands or products may not be available or offered to you.

              3. We (Econnex) have made all the available plans visible. What is shown on the Econnex site is available, if it is not showing, unfortunately, it will not be available.

              4. If you feel you have better options/offers available elsewhere, choose what is best for you and meets your requirement.
