    Subtitles ??

I don't know why you were negged, one of your better jokes.

      • +14

        It's a low bar

        • -1

          low bar

          yum…

        • +1

          Very low

    • +26

You joke but I'd bloody love subtitles, with how modern movies mix sound FX and scores to overpower voice lines, I can't hear Jack.

      • +6

Love them too even for English movies. You have actors who can't even elocute

        • You can say that again! (But you don't have to because I understood the first time.)

      • +1

depending on the cinema, they will provide a device that shows subtitles only for you (for accessibility reasons). for eg. event cinemas session times that show the 'CC' tag have that option.

      • +6

        I can't hear Jack.

You should wait for the next eBay sale, Jack is pretty loud there

      • I can't hear Jack.

        I could hear him fine…

      • It was too cold to talk, then we lost him.

      • Jack Nicholson is retired

is this only for Waurn Ponds?

  • Is it online only?

  • -5

How do blind people read at these cinemas?

  • It's online?

  • +1

thanks mate :) 5 plus 1.50 booking fee for me which is great price

  • Thanks OP - just got 4 tix to Meg 2

Book asap as all sessions will sell out. Years ago they did a $1 day and it was chaos. At least now they have online seat selection.

i remember the craziness of the 1$ Ticket

  • Sunday Sorted !

  • +1

30% booking fee! Just saying. lol

    • They could make the booking fee $1.50 and 10% if that works? :p

  • Tickets bought for Sound of Freedom.

  • Have booked for Oppenheimer. Is Barbie worth seeing as well? Might just do a movie marathon

    • +1

The Barbie movie was enjoyable, so I say yes. Good palate cleanser after Oppenheimer too.

    • Exactly what I am thinking. Never try 2 in a day before. What about 3?

    • Make sure you can park that long for free. I’ve learned my lessons lol

    • Terrible movie Barbie. If you want to watch 2 movies, watch Oppenheimer twice.

      • Over a billion dollars of peoples money says it isn't

  • +2

The email I received has $10 for gold lounge too. Cheap way to experience gold lounge.

Oppenheimer in Gold Class this Sunday! Thank you!!!

  • Do we have to pay booking fee if we book in person ?

    • +4

By the time you get the answer to that, most of the decent tickets/seats would have been sold out. Probably worth forking out the $1.50/ticket aye? Don't be tight!

      • Not sure at the moment if I will be free on Sunday. So wait and watch is what I am doing at the moment.

        • May as well not wait and don't watch

    • no fee for counter bookings.

      • Thanks

  • +1

Will Event and HOYTS price match this or even better lol

  • -4

if i wanted to read i would go the the library!

  • +2

Thanks. Watched Oppenheimer when it was released, so only one to watch with good reviews is Barbie, booked

  • Excellent. Thanks OP!

Is it just me or Reading Cinemas even at standard prices is way better value than either Village or Hoyts? Just that they miss out on more niche or non-English films.

    • I completely agree, I prefer reading cinemas because of the price. Long time back : they had a coupon as well which made movies watchable for me.
Hoyts is always been over expensive for me.

Consider other costs such buying Popcorns/drinks as well.

Streaming services are killing their business..

    • Yep. I am in Geelong and much prefer Reading over Hoyts. Better price, better facilities… just a better experience. Medium popcorn deal is $13 at Reading too which is fair.

    • looks like it but they don't have any convenient locations for me

  • I found out when booking online, after you selected the seats, but didn't proceed to check out and closed the session, the seats would be locked and unavailable for new selection any more, those seats are marked as dark grey. Kind of annoying if your prefer seats are not available anymore if your previous session close unexpected.

    • Yes, have had this happen a few times in the past and it's very annoying. Takes about 20min for the old session to "clear" the seats to come available again.

  • checking Rhodes, 2 kids movies showing before 9am… why?

    • Trying to cram in as many sessions as possible in the day.

Thanks got tickets to barbie for the missus and me as she wanted to see it!!!

  • You know Astor is playing arguably William Friedkins best film tomorrow, Sorcerer.

  • Don't miss out!

    I SURE MISSED OUT …
