FroPro Frozen Protein Pizza 2 for $11.50 (RRP $13/ea) @ Woolworths

140

FroPro protein pizza ham & pepperoni 2 for $11.5 - better than half price. They only usually go on special for ~20% off.

These taste average. You stick this in the freezer and it’s a quick healthier (macro wise) option when you haven’t done the weekly meal prep. You won’t be tempted to eat it as a nice treat.
(NB: Relative to other protein meal options these do taste pretty good and very good macros for the price)

If you are not looking at macros do not buy thinking this will be a good tasting frozen pizza, you will do yourself a disappoint.

Half: 27P / 12.5F / 25.7C / 321cal
Whole: 54P / 25F / 51.4C / 640cal

Edit: Also includes the other flavours FroPro Protein Pizza Italian Beef & Peppers, FroPro Protein Pizza Peri Peri Chicken.
Having eaten said pizza I have to say this is actually significantly better then I last recall on par with other frozen pizzas. Will be going back to buy more.

Not as long as the one your son had

But if you break it down into the list it's really:

FroPro High Protein Low Carb Pizza Base (66%), Reduced Fat Mozzarella Cheese (15%) ,Calabrese Salami (9%), Ham (6%), Tomato Sauce.

Of course if you break down each individual item it looks worse than it is.

The next level of oblivion is stating it's 100% frozen pizza.

do not buy thinking this will be a good tasting frozen pizza

Does such a thing exist? Supermarkets sell decent "fresh" pizzas, and you would think they could just do the same and freeze it, but frozen pizzas always seem to be garbage.

I don't really get it. Pizza is cheap because it is easy to make. So just get a base, and throw your favourite toppings on. You get what you want, and some satisfaction, with minimal effort.
I make my own dough in a bread machine, saves all the hard work of kneading. But you can buy them easily.

And if you want a high protein meal, why on earth would you be thinking of pizza? That is INSANE. "Hello, I'd like some soup, but I don't want it to be wet.".
Just get a BBQ chicken FFS.

I make my own dough and don't have a bread machine. Literally 2.5 cups flour, 2 cups water, 1tsp salt, 1tsp yeast. Mix together, knead slightly, cover and put in the fridge overnight. The next day take it out of the fridge, put it in a seasoned and oiled cast iron pan. Wait a couple of hours for it to prove, then top it and put it in the oven until done. SO GOOD.

So can’t have a pizza tonight for dinner? Have to plan ahead at least one day if I want a pizza?

        • Yeah it's a pain, but the result is worth it!

  • So heres my advice on the topic:

    1. Peri Peri chicken is the best, flavour wise to me, but not in every Woolworths

    2. ADD SOME STUFF TO IT… You should hopefully have something in the fridge to add on top and make it a little more interesting, that's my advice for all frozen pizzas they usually suck but they are convenient, and a tiny bit of effort makes them a lot better

    3. In the fridge pizza section, there is a protein pizza base that has similar macros for $5 full price. Buy a stick of pepperoni which will be nearby and some cheese and a long life pizza sauce and make something better for cheaper if you have a bit more energy and time 🤷
