How much do you sell this normally?

    • Rep is still online so they should reply soon.

      • or not….

      • +2

looks like they normally sell it for $869

  • 35KM (electric mode)

    What is "electric mode" ???

    • What is "electric mode" ???

      That should be only throttle.

      • Is that legal to ride in public in any state?

They are not legal in VIC

        • That will usually be specified as an off-road mode only.

          • @beeroll: Why would you take a foldable E-bike off-road ?

            • @jv: @jv To test how rough things need to get before it auto-folds?

Is it socially acceptable to ride one of these if you're not delivering food?

You ride what you want to ride, who cares what others think.

For anyone seriously considering folding bikes, I daily drove one for a full year with a lengthy commute to work (45 minutes each way)-

It wasn't an engwe I rode but it was similar. Some things to consider in relation to folding bikes:

The folding is more of a gimmick than anything and almost never useful. The idea is probably that youre able to take it on busses and trains (during busy periods) once folded, however laws state it must also be in an "appropriately fitted carry bag". This makes it wholly impractical to lug around especially considering the weight. My bike was about 18kg with the battery and that was a nightmare to transport once folded and in a bulky bag. This engwe bike is 32kg…

Most don't have gears, including this. It heavily relies on the pedal assist and throttle. This means pedalling at higher speeds is very unrewarding because you have to spin the pedals comedically fast.

Batteries are normally smaller at this size and cost point and the weight makes it rely very heavily on the pedal assist. A 4 out 5 pedal assist is a minimum for a folding bike to feel useable. At that assist, and the advertised battery size, you're looking at about 20KM travel distance max on a single charge.

The positives: These things are a blast. They're like adult BMX's. They have poor handling and steering and you feel a lot of the bumps (although suspension on the engwe at this price point is a great feature) but you feel like a rocket on this type of thing. They're a lot of fun, but I wouldn't recommend them for daily cycling.

you have to spin the pedals comedically fast.

      That made me laugh.

    • For anyone seriously considering folding bikes

That is a bit generic feedback as folding bikes have small and big wheels, suspension or non suspension.

      This engwe bike is 32kg

Maybe it's a wrong detail so I would ask the OP, look at this NCM London (or Paris) if you're serious about folding bikes, it's much bigger, bigger and heavier battery and it only weights 25Kg:

Don't buy this. I returned it after 1 day. Impossible to pedal due to the gear ratio and weight. Even if you are strong enough to pedal, the plastic pedal will snap.
The first gen was better with usb charger, rear brake light and speedometer.

What do you buy after this?

      • An electric scooter

        Or a train ticket

        • An electric scooter is way more dangerous, you cannot pedal at all, and most of them don't offer such a luxury as a seat. I'd prefer this bike over any scooter.

    • It's a 14" bike, what did you expect and also what will you get for that price?
Maybe a 20" bike is more suitable for you.

all this soon-to-be electric landfill is great at combatting climate change!

    • Waste is a different issue to climate change

      • no connections between consumption, waste, environment & climate change…?
        …interesting take.

Look most people ride this rather than a four wheel drive sp its less waste even if it only lasts 10000kms

  • Very good value bike for the price but be careful when you go at 32Km/h on a 14" wheel bike!

    • Still safer than 25km/h on any scooter.

  • Applicable height (CM):155-210 {5.0~6.2ft(ft)}

Your metric to imperial conversions don’t stack up.
    189cm is ~6.2ft, not 210cm.
