Is It Possible to Buy Samsung Air Tags in Aus/WA?

I have discovered some, but they are too expensive.
Even if I purchase from Amazon US, the cost per tag comes up to $170, which is a lot.

I have Tile, but they're not that great. From reviews, it appears that SamsungTag+ is almost superior to Apple AirTags. Just can't buy them in Australia for some reason (I did a little research and discovered that this is because coin batteries are a hazard to children; it's not like they sell coin batteries in Kmart, Coles, Woolworths, and pretty much everywhere.), so I'm wondering if there's a website that sells them there for around $170, haha.

Samsung web (doesn't let you buy): https://www.samsung.com/levant/mobile-accessories/galaxy-sma…

tradeinn aus (but never really heard of it): https://www.tradeinn.com/techinn/en/samsung-smarttag--ei-t73…

When i got them from Amazon a year ago they were like $50 or something each

  • Check out my post a while back too: here

Tile is hit and miss if you don't have other tile users around to report the location.

At this point in the game, hold off with the Samsung tags and get the new range of Google "Find My Device" network devices, basically like Apple AitTags, any google phone will report the location of these tags. Unlike Tile that needs a phone to have the Tile app, or Samsung that only Samsung phones report it.

I'm a tile user, but just waiting for these to ship so I can dump them.

    • Tiles are crap. Gave my dad one to put on his keys, couldn't find anything. Since swapped it to an Airtag, and its been 10000x better

Did you install the tile app on their phone at least? Tile needs other tile users around, so it is hit and miss.

They work great for luggage etc, as there are always tile app users around at the airport. But coverage can be hit and miss indeed.

Airtags work well as all iPhones report the location. Googles version will be just as good or better.

Airtags are useless to people not in the Apple ecosystem.

        • Also ihphones from 11 Onwards have U1 chip for more precise location. there isn't currently, nor really will there be, that same standardisation on the android side

    • Will they work with any Android phone?

basically any android 9 and above with the play store on it.

        • Oh that would be great! I've been looking for alternatives for Air Tag.

@Cherry12: Me too. Just waiting for them to be released. Hurry up Google!

  • It was rumoured that a new Galaxy Tag would be released soon (based on FCC Report via SamMobile), but who knows when or IF it will be available in Australia.
